I'm currently running a 250hcca powering a single re mx15d1. Its currently wired for 2ohms and the amp just seems under powered at 2ohms. I'm look for a good amp for this sub to run at 2ohm. I would like to keep the price around 150-200. New or used is fine. Thanks

Steve

Why dont you wire the sub to 1/2 ohm and see what it does.

most manufactures don't warranty them that low

(haven't looked it up) but that amp probably doesn't like to go that low either

"seems"? why do you say that

again, i haven't looked anything up (you can), what are the manufactures ratings on both the amp and sub

I did and it seems like there is something wrong plus it was blowing the 60amp fuse. I dont want to do any electrical up grades. I'm really not into it any more i just want to spice up the winter beater some so i just bought a audiopipe 1500. If this doesn't fix my problem I'll change the sub next.

Yes the amp is .5ohms stable. Its a 2nd gen 250hcca.

I dont think i'm worried about the warranty on my 1995 Orion amp LOL

I said that because the spec put it around 400w 2homs and its not moving the speaker at all. The speaker is rated at 1500rms.

Its running 4gauge and a cap if that matter on stock electrical.

Are we serious here?

Wire down to half ohm and a 60 amp fuse is not enough! Which is why the fuse keeps popping when wired down. More current than it can handle.

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
