THEKINGsBACK
How close to the back hatch will the port be? iirc about 3.5 inches Quote he wouldnt be the first to say they did a 167 with a system like that (one that clearly DOESNT), but i have to say, he didnt beat me anywhere, ive never competed against the guy. If he thinks his does a 167, mine would probably put him in a coma. :hairtrick:
bassahaulic
How close to the back hatch will the port be? iirc about 3.5 inches That is to close. The enclosure tuning would no longer have any effect on the sound of the system. I don't think you have enough room for 2 18"s, I think 3 15"s might work. THEKINGsBACK
yea the box is going to be high.. prob close to about 33 tall sub up port back, yea i wanna do a pair... and wanna keep the rear seat I have a Mazda Tribute and can only fit 7.5 cubes without going over wheel wells and without going over back seats (sub up, port back). Thats why I was wondering Ill probably wind up doing 2 15" Ascendant Audio Havocs. I had a long talk with Nick about them. Anyway..if Its 3500wrms PER sub, id go with Mayhems. If its 3500wrms total, Id go with Fully Loaded Fi BLs lol 3500 per sub thats outta my reach right now man... haha... that for both.. and ive gotten a box about 9 cubes in there before in my escape.. but then again my box did come close to my head rest Haha..I feel ya. I got like 9.5 cubes at the top of my headrests, but I felt kind of 'barricaded' lol If youre already going that high, why don't you just wall the Escape off? i gotta have my backseat... got brothers and sisters and alot of books and stuff to haul around in college... not enough space for all of it now..lol... fecupe2001
I think it was dwright27 who said a buddy´s Escape it´s loud as hell with subs up/port up, so i would take his word and would build that box, you wouldn´t need to keep the box away from the trunk, it´s the only way i can see you getting 2 18´s in there on a proper box without choking the port. Mike Singer had great succes using around 4.5 cubic feet per 18" TC Sound sub, but he had tons of power also so i don´t know much about 18´s , my 3518´s POUND with 5.75 cubic feet Quote I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains. 94retta(219)
If i had a small suv like that "dreams" id port it under your rear seats.. With subs faceing up that way the port would be outside the box and give you more room plus not worrie about the hatch. You'd prolly have to raise your back seats a inch or so depending on how much space is under them. Just an idea! Quote BUILD LOG
hdorre
dwright27s friend never tried sub up, port back iirc. Doing port up does allow the box to be shorter though (like you said). fecupe2001
Yeah i know, he said they never tried port back, but since he wants to get 2 18´s so badly, then i would get subs up/port up hehe, OR, 2 badass 15´s with subs up/port back Quote I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains.
