assman Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 I aquired a 89 astro van and the brake light on the dash stays on.The previous owner said its been like that since he got it from the owner before.Well today the light started blinking, its 6 fast blinks then a slower blink and repeats the pattern.Does anybody know what could be wrong with the brake system?Any help would be greatfull. kingsuv Posted August 31, 2007 Report Posted August 31, 2007 It might be a bad ABS sensor. Hows the brakes on it? Quote Designing, building, and shipping boxes. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.
assman Posted August 31, 2007 Author Report Posted August 31, 2007 They are working fine, they arent soft or anything. Quote Assman IdustriesFear The DuckTeam Notoriously Loud Mafia
kingsuv Posted August 31, 2007 Report Posted August 31, 2007 Sounds like a sensor or maybe the portioning valve at the brake booster. If the brakes aren't bleed right then it might be off. str86diesel Posted August 31, 2007 Report Posted August 31, 2007 i agree with the above....it's got to be sensor issue. Quote 2k6 Dodge Ram 2500...CUMMINS POWERED - SOLD
assman Posted September 2, 2007 Author Report Posted September 2, 2007 bleed the brakes and replaced a sensor and still stays on.Going to get a abs sensor maonday and see what that does.It did stop blinking so that is a start. Now it just stays on and when i hit the e-brake it gets brighter. E a r t h Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 If it's equipped with abs, do a panic style stop in no traffic. If you feel the pedal pulsing it's not within the abs system Quote
jon_570 Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 could be a short to ground. If the PCM controls the ground for the brake light switch the wire may have got itself caught on something sharp and shorted it to ground causing power to flow which lights the light. just my 2cents Quote New system"RF T5001BD 980watts RMS at one ohmSoundstream T5-12"kenwood 4 inch front doorpowerbass 5 inch back2.3 cube foot enclosure tuned to about 34hz
assman Posted October 2, 2007 Author Report Posted October 2, 2007 found out that its the abs module under the hood.Unplugged it all and the light went out,got to pick one up someday. Quote Assman IdustriesFear The DuckTeam Notoriously Loud Mafia
