demonstr8
Whats up everybody! Ok, pretty much im gonna be installing a new system in a 2007 Tahoe in the next couple months. Im a fan of the JL 13w7's and i want to run two of those in the back. My main question here is what are some of the pro's and con's of firing the sub's UP (steve meade style), or just plain rear firing (like a trunker)? Im not trying to break SPL records or win competitions, i just want a loud clear system and im wondering what the best way is to achieve this with the subs i want to run in the space the tahoe has to offer. Thanks for your help!! PS - I searched the forum for a topic similar to this, if someone can post a link to some information, i'd appreciate it. I only tell people 1/3 of what im REALLY doin', just so they can HATE ONLY on that third... 2007 Tahoe factory system for now Car Domain Page Lay It Low Forum
MyLimpIsGangsta
I'd like to hear more on this subject as well. Everyone has always told me to go sub, port back. I can see why Meade went sub up port back, if he didn't he'd have to wall it. But there may be more to it than that. 03' Element Stolen!

iKidwell
Subs up port back is normally louder in an suv c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old. i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer. 2003 Infiniti G35 Sport Sedan Build in Progress
LT.Smoke
Exactly what Ikidwell said... Statistically in an Suv the sub up port back style tends to get louder and sounds better...Just make sure you give yourself enough room from the back hatch to load off of so you dont cause cancellation behind the box Team MaxRetribution Si Vis Pacem Parabellum Id rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6 Bowhunting- Life Begins and Ends at Full Draw Bowhunting Team Fatal Trajectory Hunt Team http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/49335-sick96vtecaccords-t-line-build/?hl=sick96vtecaccord << Accord Build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/68498-smokedout08impalas-tline-build/?hl=+sick96vtecaccord << Impala T-line build Rebassed.com for all your music needs 👌

fecupe2001
Depends on the car, but yes, most SUV´s are louder with subs up/port back , sometimes subs up/port side works even better, for example, lots of blazers I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains.
