slow240sx
I got a 92 240sx, I hear u can get alt from a nissan quest and its almost bolt in. It will do 100 amps compared to 80 stock. U should do big 3, it helped on my car. I went to my local alt rebuilder, he said u can't do too much to stock alt & recommended a different alt with custom bracket. I just got a cs144 out of caddy in junkyard and plan on trying to make a custom bracket. It doesn't look really hard to do. I should b starting the mod this weekend. Ill let u know how it goes Quote 99 GMC Suburban 2 Death Penalty 21" 2 Crescendo BC2000 Boston GT-42 Amp 6 Selenium 6w4p 4 Crescendo tweets Hi output cs144 alt Audiocontrol Epic-160 Pioneer DVD head unit
ingramcaraudio
Ok just never had experience or knowledge of the big caps But 1 more thing too.. would a 200amp isolater between the 2 batterys help at all? That helps if you have a non agm battery in the front and a agm style in the back. But if you upgrade both to agm then you wont need it. If that's the only alt I can use then ill do that, but plz let me kno how that caddy alt works out.(and u r using KA24DE motor rite?) It's hard to keep the electric system up if I can't get a good alt lol Quote stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/105505-silvia-first-time-build-kenwood/

tonedeaf
Having your alt rebuilt won't really help you much, but if that's your only option, its worth it later. (should be way down on your prio list) Xs power in the back, throw the cap in a campfire, roast marshmallows and enjoy.
joemon
Ok took the cap out and it helped a lot but still have the motor lug issue and dimming lights but will do the big 3 in a few days Quote stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/105505-silvia-first-time-build-kenwood/
joemon
Did the big 3 and charged my rear battery and it seems to help a lot!!! My rear battery was at 11.8 volts and front was 12.6 volts Quote stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/105505-silvia-first-time-build-kenwood/
