This is my first time doing this and i hope evryone likes it. Also tips and hints will be nice lol. Anyways the truck is a 1992 full-size chevy blazer (I'll post a pic) and i wasn't planning on doing this but i saw some custom center consoles and it got my creative juices flowing lol, The console is designed to fit a 6" screen up front bewteen the drivers seat and the passengers eat as well as my eq. Also there will be a switch panel with 14 blue led rocker switches controlling various parts of the truck. Also facing the rear seat i plan on doing another 7 " screen. For now thats it. Lets get to the pics lol I forgot to take pics of when i first started it because i ddint think i would be posting it but ill just start with the pics i have. cboos55 Posted January 10, 2011 Author Report Posted January 10, 2011 here i just filled all the holes, sanded them smooth as well as the whole console. then came the fun part lol i fiber glassed the inside for strength purposes. I decided not to fiber glass the outside because it will be convered in vynal but to compensate im doing at least 3-4 layers inside. the first of layer of many. didnt get much done because well it was late at night, cold, and i was tired. well thats all the pics for today. sorry for throughing all these at you so quickly but i just decided to put them up lol i started monday, 1-3-11 till today and this is all the progress i got doen. Its not much but i only get to work on it for like 3 hours during the week after school because it gets dark quickly. but i hope to get another layer of fiberglass on tomorrow as well as a little trimming on that first layer. please leave comments and any advice thanks. skittlesRgood Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 i dont know why you think it needs more strength than .75" mdf. its over built already. unless you didnt use glue. when you wrap it, use a layer of foam. itll give it a softer look and feel. especially on the arm rest.
