iKidwell
Somewhere around 14.4 lol, full tilt you'll probably be in the low 13's Quote c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old. i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer. 2003 Infiniti G35 Sport Sedan Build in Progress
eric78702
What would I need to do to keep it at 14.4 or higher?
tejcurrent
^ Upgraded front battery, big 3, 2 runs of 1/0, a dual alternator setup, and 2 D3100s or similar battery. If you want to keep 14v you need to have the same alternator output at idle as your amps pull. The moment your alternator can't keep up with the demand you will see voltage drop. One h/o alt with 2 d3100s and an upgraded starter battery would be my first move. There is nothing wrong with 13v, if you rarely see below 13v it's probably not worth the money for you to upgrade your charging system any more. If you must have 14v you need multiple alternators. eric78702
So basically the most you can do with any one alternator setup is in the 13v range?
AMI CUSTOMS
Unless you go to a 14 or 16 volt charging system and those aq amps don't like music daily in the 16 volt and up range 16.8 is the max I would take them for daily and 18 on burp. CJ18
Whats the difference of putting the d3100 a d1400 or a d1600? D3100 is a 12v battery----will cost you about $360 D1400 is a 14v battery----will cost you about $260 D1600 is a 16v battery----will cost you about $270 You would need 2 1400/1600s to get similar power handling capacity in watts as 1 D3100. But you also have to take into consideration that your starting voltage on a D1400 will be around 16.8v vs a D3100 voltage of 14.9. For what it sounds like you want to do I wouldnt mess with a 14v or 16v setup. Unless you are planning on competing with whatever setup you go with, then the difference between 14.4v and 13.5v at full tilt wont be a big deal. If your voltage is a big issue for you then I think you need to look into amps that put out their rated RMS power at 12v like SounDigital. eric78702
Okay so it would be best just to stay in the 13 volt range for daily music?
eric78702
Correct or wrong?
Loudcivic
yes you would be fine if your voltage is in the 13 volt range daily Quote 2015 silverado crew cab nothing atm but soon...
