tejcurrent Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 I would not use Memphis amps again. Below 12.5v they don't hold up long- at least they didn't when I was using them a few years back. I sold mine for like 600 each used. A dealer can sell them for 1200 or less (or did to me anyway). Both amps are great and unless you're competing for a few 10ths are both great products. Ide personally go with IA... try something new... everybody has SA.... or hell why not get a Memphis 4kw..? Those are so sexy!! And can be had.for $500 all day online!! And thy can take a SERIOUSE beating!! And there like 36" long but 5" wide 2.5" thick I've always like them! IA has sold alot more amps than we have -- so that is a bit erroneous to say that everyone has SA and IA is different In any event -- the 40.1 is a more powerful amp than the 3500D. sundownz Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 If it's an old 40.1 there is almost a 100% chance it's not under warranty -- so if that is a concern the 3500D may be more ideal for your situation. I haven't seen a whole lot. I know the original 20.1 was a pretty big seller, but still I think Sundown has sold more amps than IA. Quote
