The official guns and stuff shoot the breeze thread

Depending on what you're loading you can divide the cost of casings by anywhere between 3-10.

I get my casings by saving factory ammo and loading those.

I can load 9mm for $11.50/100. Multiply that by 1100/hr if I'm loading fast and the savings add up quick

its not just about cost when you talk reloading. I have rounds that are tailored to my game gun. I won my last match overall. I won by .82 seconds. If my gun didn't shoot extremely flat and I couldn't shave a tenth of a half of a tenth off my times I would have finished second. When you start running on the ragged edge you need every advantage you can get. Same goes for the precision guys and those guys who shoot a thousand yards plus. There's a lot more to it than cost. I build my ammo just like I build my truck. In he end something goes wrong it's all on me with no one to blame.

Depends on caliber. 9mm can be used basically until they split.

I've got 8x on a smaller batch of 9mm, only had to toss out a handful so far. Edit I should add I got those reloaded from a manufacturer so who knows how many times they've been through

.454 brass, haven't shot enough through to have any case failures yet. On my 3rd run through them.

Straight wall brass lasts a LONG time

Oh and another thing. You don't really save money I've found. I just shoot more for the same money.

my guns didnt do too well on reloads from a range. the guns they had did good but mine jammed so that means they need well done or i need to mess with the recoil spring.. maybe get a lighter one

Or the reloads need to be tailored to your guns. Either way. My loads work with my guns specifically my game gun
