RcCustoms33 Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 First off I would like to say how great this site is. I have learned a lot by just reading thru the forum. I have an 89 s-10 blazer I'm working on and would like to relocate the battery to the back. I will be running 2 kinetik hc2000s. Is it ok to run 1/0 gauge from the alternator to one of the batteries in the back and the wire the other battery in parallel? Or should I just keep one battery up front and one in the back? I would like to keep the engine bay less cluttered if I can. Thanks for the help.
michigancapri92 Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 what i did was run 1/0 from the back of the car to then front and i have 2 distro blocks in the engine bay one has the 1/0 going on with 1 4ga to the fuse panel another 4ga to the starter i then have another distro that T with the main 1/0 to the back that connects to the alternator then upgraded engine grounds with 1/0 and ground the batter to the frame in the back, thats what i did at least no battery in my engine bay Teamcapri.comThe TeamCapri 1992 Mercury Capri XR22012 FORD EDGE SQ BUILDOld build logMy FeedBack1992 Mercury capri XR2 Hyper LED

tonedeaf Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 I did this on my car, as well as relocated the PDB (under the hood fuse box). All you need to do is use 1/0 to the alternator like normal and replace the power wire from the fuse box to the engine with 4g power wire. No need for distro block or anything, other then the fuse holder for the alternator run. It cleans out the engine bay immensely and if you do anything fancy with the engine/multi alts it really shines. Do a wire tuck too.
