Sanded smooth, and ready for ring # 2

so now i need to secure the inside of the baffle.

Here is a helpful tip for all of Ya'll. It is said that the best way to do a secure is to use Kitty Hair. But what if you only have duraglass, fiberglass and resin. You make your own.

Cut up the fiberglass into really tiny bits, then on another container mix in some duraglass and resin untill you have the thickness you desire. Then add your MEKP to the mix and add all that to the container with the cut fiberglass and you have instant Kitty Hair.

After curing, sand down the areas that you dont want covered and try out the speaker for fitment.

Time for Ring # 2

20131116_112712.jpg

in order to place the ring with the same exact angle and height as the other one i first place my 4 poles to snug the ring in place so i can check the height. To make sure i have the same angle, i use this device which you can pick up in Home Depot

then do the same procedure as the first baffle, put little sticks all around the ring, seal the ring with Duraglass and body filler. and re-enforce the inside with the Kitten Fur (kitty hair)

Damn looking good man! Just out of curiosity I don't see any mounting locations on the base of that....are you just bolting to the door, or what is your plan for mounting to the door?

Firm believer in letting my cars do my talking!

You can't rush quality, it doesn't happen overnight. Quality takes time and dedication, but the end results more than pay for it.

Yes. I will be mounting them directly to the door frame but with thread inserts on the door rather than just screwing directly to the metal for two benefits. One, no rust from the self tapping screws to direct metal, and two, with thread inserts, a threaded bolt, and lock washers will insure that the panels won't lossen up with the bass. And with Dynamat between the door and fiberglass panel there will be almost no vibrations.
