Sonic10
Going to build a new box for the ZV4 12, wanting to try out a 4th order. How many cubes in the sealed section? Not sure if am going to build a 2:1 or a 3:1, do you guys have any inputs? MrSkippyJ
Some really smart people that know a lot about bandpass enclosures (not me) will tell you to ignore the ratio. 1 Quote F150: Stock 2019 Harley Road Glide: Amp: TM400Xad - 4 channel 400 watt Processor: DSR1 Fairing (Front) 6.5s -MMats PA601cx Lid (Rear) 6x9s - TMS69
Sonic10
I've never build a box like this before, resonanse in the sealed section? i have no idea. What freq should i aim for? So like there are no difference in a 1:1 and a 3:1? Quote Chrysler Stratus DD Cs 6.5 DD A2 ZV4 12 DD M1c 1/0 Gauge SHCA
Massivespl
Big diff in a 1:1 and 3:1 1:1 is pretty much a ported box 3:1 Gunna have a bigger peak and be louder then a 1:1 1 Quote c-pillar flat wall 157.11db on music 2 crossfire 8k 4 NSV3 18s 4 crescendo 10s 4 Rockford pro 6.5s Quad excessive amperage 350alts 4 juicebox 3100s
hoit
I'm pretty sure their is a big difference in a 1:1 ratio to a 3:1 ratio. Bandwidth and peak are the first things that come to mind...but I'll have to agree with MrSkippyJ...they're are WAY more seasoned peeps on here that can answer better than I. hoit
bigger peak=smaller bandwidth, and a smaller ratio will be much more flat with larger bandwidth, and less peak. I think?.... Massivespl
A good way for first timers or even seasoned vets is build the enclosure without the ported side loading wall. Find the res freq on the sealed side. Hopefully around 45-50hz... Then when u find that tune your ported side to your seal side res freq... For port area a good place to start is half of the cone area. So for a single zv4 12" port area in a 4th u could start with 60" Edited October 15, 2015 by Massivespl 1 Quote c-pillar flat wall 157.11db on music 2 crossfire 8k 4 NSV3 18s 4 crescendo 10s 4 Rockford pro 6.5s Quad excessive amperage 350alts 4 juicebox 3100s
Sonic10
Thanks for all the answers! It helps alot. my max volum I have 3.67 int vol for the box. Is it possible for me to even fit a 4th order in my car? Or does it have to be bigger? Massivespl
Internally. That should work. I'd do 1cube sealed and 2.67 ported Quote c-pillar flat wall 157.11db on music 2 crossfire 8k 4 NSV3 18s 4 crescendo 10s 4 Rockford pro 6.5s Quad excessive amperage 350alts 4 juicebox 3100s
