MotorCityFats13
and strapping at 1 ohm is .5 ohm its the same as bridging the amp it sees the load divided by 2 1 ohm stable mono amp when strapped is 2 ohm stable
ShadeTreeMechanic
Sometimes the input signal link that is used to strap, can also be used to link two separate amps. This way you won't need RCAs to the second amp and the levels will be matched. If you use RCAs you would have to gain match the amps. The owners manual would have this information. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
TzA
I was looking around on the C2 Audio facebook page, as I swear I saw something related to this on there a while back... As the manual states ** Do NOT wire below 2ohm when strapped, could cause damage and void warranty**, well someone called them out because the picture stated 1 - 8ohms.. The owner then chimed in and stated they spent good money on making these amps fully .5 stable, so wiring down to 1 ohm when strapped is fine for these recon amps. Thanks for the input! F O. CleanSierra
Not sure what kind of crack we are smoking today boys but the OP has two subs and two amps. Wiring each D1 sub to each amp would be 2 ohms final on each amp. Yes, he has the option to wire at half per amp either but there's no need. Here you go: http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurationsm.asp?Q=1&I=12#results Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. CleanSierra
Wiring like I posted the link for, will require the amps to be gain matched with either a DD-1 and CC-1(or I believe a DD-1+) or an Oscilloscope. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
RainStryke
I said the .5OHM before knowing the amplifier. Those C2's can't do .5OHM https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=10152403556863430&id=207890963429 But 1600w @ 2OHM on 14.4v should be more than enough. ShadeTreeMechanic
Strap them at 4 ohms and use the input link. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
TzA
nah, they handle .5 just fine from what i have been reading.. "The amps are .5 ohm stable so strapped you can run 1 ohm total load. Each amp will see a .5 ohm load putting out max power (Although distortion level does increase over 1). I do not personally care for them at .5 but I did pay the extra $ for them to be fully stable at 1/2 so competitors had more versitility. If they drop below .4 they go to protect as they are designed to take a beating and keep working. SMD did some videos of this and he even was suprised durring torure test it did not kill the amp the torture test just kicked them in protect they always turned right back on." - Owner of C2 Audio. Decided to just wire the subs together to 1 ohm and call it a day! F O.
