I love new toys! I just got my Sundown SA-8 v.2 today and i gotta say, this thing is rather beastly!! Thanks Jacob! :santa: I cant wait to hook it up to something! I will probably hook it up on the test bench and get it moving with an amp.....then i will build a cool little box for it.

this has been explained numerous times, twice by Tony iirc before the unit was released to the public and by me earlier in the thread 40hz and 1000hz are the fundamental frequencies the unit detects, anything besides those frequencies will light up the dd-1 and it takes 1% distortion or more for the LED to become fully bright. this is why he repeatedly says the DD-1 does not detect clipping, it detects TOTAL HARMONIC DISTORTION. THD = sum of harmonic power/fundamental power in this picture you would add up all the signal db coming from frequencies above 40hz (high order harmonics) and divide it by the fundamental freuquency 40hz signal db to determine THD. i would guess pictured is between 5-15% distortion without measuring

The person who made the video and THINKS our product doesnt work is an idiot though. i have to quote myself here because now i am confused. The link in your sig is linked to the page where the video is posted......and its YOUR page? Now i cant tell who the Idiot is but to whoever made that video, i would say "nice try" and actually nice job getting some extra "cheap" views on the channel. When you cant get views being a stand up guy, its always a good alternative to diss on me and get some extra traffic. Whoever made the video proved the DD-1 works and if the intention was to dog out our product, you failed miserably.
