  1. I believe it's T-Rock-So High The new setup should put that one to shame, more than double the power on a Juggernaut/RE hybrid.........Building starts today.
  2. figured while the new setup is being built, I'd share all the old videos here: Setup was a single MTX9512 powered by a Memphis MC 1500d
  3. That's nice, I use a cheapy Harbor Freight air brad nailer, and it works well for the $10 it cost me, but I'm going to put that one on my want list.
  4. I'm a Sundown rep, and I wouldn't run one at .35 for daily, it's just too hard on your electrical. Now a pair at 1.4 strapped, and proper voltage is a winner. Other than that, I'd have to agree with Accordman, there's no reason to run an amp that low for daily driving, and it voids the warranty on the Sundown running it that low anyways.
  5. Well, Gains on the amps are at about 1/8th at the most (8v preouts rock!!!!) I use PEQ in my deck, 63hz is about -6db, and they gradually curve up in the middle, and back down to 0 at 2.5khz No bass boost at all Non-Fader out (subwoofer level) -2 out of -15 to +15 Volume usually 72-74/80
  6. Any headunit will skip given enough pressure in the car. My Eclipse 8445 seems to do well until around 150db, then it'll start skipping. I'm getting the CD Changer for it, or I'm going to pony up and buy the Eclipse AVN5495, which has a built in 30gb harddrive.
  7. You're gonna need some electrical upgrades if you plan on running the Sundown or IA at .35...... Stock alternator and a yellow top aren't going to cut it.
  8. because we have DD 9512's sitting right next to them Naaah, they just don't sound that great to me, but I've been told I'm too picky before.
  9. We have a couple at the shop, and I'm not impressed. People buy them because they light up though.
  10. Their products are awesome, but if I didn't have 3 local dealers, I wouldn't have bought them, because their customer service if you have to deal with them directly, isn't very good. I still got them though.
  11. I got my battery from Ray, it was packed well, which was a testament, since it survived a cross country trip by UPS.
  12. Depends on power. If you have about 2500 or more watts per sub, the DD 9500's do find for daily. If you can't give them at least 1800 each rms all the time, I'd say the T2's. Those 2 subs really aren't comparable though.
  13. I know we're friends, but I've got to call you out on this one....... How many have you heard in good clean SQ oriented installs in person? They may not be as clean as Zapco and Audison, but I've heard them in an SQ install and they were very nice.
  14. No, it didn't come straight from Fi, it was bought by someone else, who had it reconed, and then I bought it from them. Just called UPS, and they said it wasn't insured, so I'm working with the seller right now to get a new basket and recone from Scott.
  15. Got this older 18" XXX that was newly reconed with Fi softparts.... It arrived today, and this is what I found in the box:
  16. All depends on the box and setup, but it's definately possible, since 6 8's has a lot more cone area than a single 12.
  17. Let's put 1800 watts daily on an L7 in a folded horn and see how long it lasts, OK..... :^ FYI: I'm not running the 9500 anymore, I've moved on to better things now, but for an MTX sub, it really impressed me during the 10 months it was in my car, and hit 147 on the meter from a trunk on 1800 watts in a musical box.
  18. I definately would disagree with the L7's taking more of a beating. The 9500 is "almost" indestructable, I've had a ton of L7's come back when running over rms on them. I've run almost double rms on mine for almost a year. BTW: 2.4 cubes, tuned to 35hz with about 40 inches of port is the hookup for a ported box for a 9512.
  19. They use styrofoam to etch out the shape they want, then make a mold out of that, and then fiberglass in the mold.
  20. there were just a few things I wasn't happy with once it was mocked up with the car. It was about an inch too tall in the back, which I could have notched out, but I wasn't liking the way the new rear decklid was going to be, so it's time to rethink and build again.
  21. I've got this flipdown, and it's just too big for my car, so I put a smaller one in, and I'm going to sell this one for very cheap. It was used for about a week, and works and looks like brand new. Asking $250 shipped in the lower 48, or I'm open to trades. I also have an MTX 9512-44 that was repaired by MTX about a month ago. It works great and still has about 4 months left on the factory MTX warranty. I will include a copy of the reciept so that if you have a problem, you can have it repaired for no hassles. Asking $350 or open to trades also. Also selling my Eclipse CD8445. Absolutely the best sounding headunit I've even owned. I would like to get $280 shipped for it, and it's still under warranty also. Words flawlessly. I will entertain trades on anything, but I'm really looking for an in dash dvd setup, preferably a double din setup. Willing to work with you on trades for a double din setup especially.
  22. I guess it all depends on how they are built, my folded horn picked up over 4db at 36hz over my old ported box, however, I lost a bit of SQ, and below 30hz is kind of weak, although anything over that is awesome.
  23. Someone say my name in here? I was fairly happy with my 9512.44. When it was in a box that should sound great musically, it was on par with the 12W7 that I had before, just louder. When I decided to make it loud, I slapped it in a folded horn, and it was amazingly loud for a single 12" woofer.
  24. Yep, I'm starting all over, there's a couple things that just aren't going to be right with this one, so it's to the scrap pile with it. New box build will commence shortly.
