  1. Pics, and a little better job on describing what exactly you want to do. -Car had power windows? -Now has manual crank windows, with crank handle door panels? -You want to switch it back to power windows but can't find door panels for a 96 camry with power windows?? -Cut the center out of the door panel why?
  2. A REAL kandy is going to be expensive depending on your area. It's not a job for just any painter out there. Just get HOK Kandy Apple red and a silver base.
  3. Size does vary a bit from speaker to speaker with 6.5s So you you don't have the actual speakers? But you do know which speakers you will be using? With a google search I'm sure you can find a site that is selling the speakers you want. They usually list.... A. outter diameter B. Inner cutout diameter C. Mounting depth D. Sometimes the weight of the speaker
  4. Looks damn good. Only thing though is if your are gonna wrap them(the pods or doors or whatever it is you are making) you might want to factor in a little room for the material you will use. After wrapping you might not get the grill to go back in so easy. When I made my first rings I made it so snug with the speaker and grill mounted to the ring that there was no way I could wrap the door and get the ring to fit back in there. But if I wanted to paint the doors then the rings I made would have worked perfectly.
  5. Nice work, but is that 1in MDF? Might just be the pic though. A bit overkill IMO. That thing gotta be pretty heavy too lol. Could have used 1/2in mdf and saved some weight.
  6. Did you even search? If you don't know and or can't find the stuff you need, then you need to do some more re-search and check out a whole lot of builds. Not tryna be a dick, but it will REALLY help as you go about your build cause from seeing other peoples work you will get a sense on how you should attack.
  7. Don't put bass blockers on them seleniums, I have two of those 6's. I never put them in a sealed enclosure but I heard they got a nice little amount of bass to them if you seal them up.
  8. Yeah you can get it at lowes, homedepot, sears etc. If you decide to make your own circle jig then you can use a 1/2in bit. But if you get the jasper then you have to use the 1/4in bit. Make sure you get a 1in x 1/4 or 1in x 1/2 so you can cut all the way through 1in or 3/4in MDF. I was using a bit like this, but it was 1in x 1/4in. They broke on me two times. And yes I was going slow and cutting in the correct direction. http://www.lowes.com/pd_31056-353-85279MC_0__?productId=1082821&Ntt=router+bit&pl=1&currentURL=%2Fpl__0__s%3FNtt%3Drouter%2Bbit%26page%3D2 Then I bought one like this, so far so good. http://www.lowes.com/pd_57163-353-85911MC_0__?productId=1093177&Ntt=bosch+router+bit&pl=1&currentURL=%2Fpl__0__s%3FNtt%3Dbosch%2Brouter%2Bbit
  9. Sound like its time to get a new/better router. I like down cut bit, I hate MDF dust and def don't want all that crap shooting up towards my face anymore then a down cut already does by using a up cut bit.
  10. Yup this is pretty much what I do. Also I sprinkled "damprid" all over the carpet, I did this when it was below 60 degrees outside so there was no leaving it in the sun to dry up and shopvac cant suck up all the water outta the carpet. Sprinkled some of this every where. Vacuum it up the next day and it was completely dry in there. This stuff sticks together when it absorbs all the water and kinda sticks to the carpet too making it kinda a bitch to vacuum up but I got it done. http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&productId=100391308&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&ci_sku=100391308&ci_src=14110944&cm_mmc=shopping-_-googlebase-_-D24X-_-100391308&locStoreNum=1846&marketID=29 Shitty cell phone pics. Some of the smaller stains didn't come out good enough. I didn't use any real harsh chemicals. Just hot water in a bucket with some laundry soap. And RESOLVE spray and wash. Before. After.
  11. I have that exact T.V. you are talking about here at the house. Got it at circuit city when they were closing down and selling off everything.
  12. You only need 1 bit. Up or down cut bit, whichever you prefer.
  13. Picked up a sheet today..time to get back to work. MDF saw dust FTL!
  14. Thank you sir! I was hoping someone knew of a place. Going to head out there a little later today.
  15. Yeah I don't hear to many people that like to spray it, I just know its the preferred choice when it comes to kandy. You gotta go a full walk around the car and overlap that shit precise. I think most go 75% overlap. But now that I think about it and look at the rim it would look pretty nice with the black scheme you were talking about. Or if you guys don't like it can toss on a little blue with it and see how it looks before you scrap it. Don't mind me I'm just a color matched kinda guy lol. x2 what everyone else said though, hope he sobers up. I know that kinda thing runs through the blood on both sides of my family. A lot of heavy drinkers, number 1 reason why I don't drink at all. Meade your just a couple min drive from me, I needa come check that hoopty and hoe out.
  16. I started a door panel build last weak or so for my car. For the base to build everything off of I'm using 1/4in MDF. A few months ago I bought a full 1/4in sheet of MDF at lowes in elk grove/laguna area. Went back there few days ago and all they have is 1/2in 3/4in and 1in MDF. Didn't have much time today, but I went to 3 different Lowes today before they all closed and came up with nothing. Went to 4 different local Home Depots and Nothing. No one seems to have full large sheets 1/4in MDF in stock or just does not carry it. Tomorrow I plan to hit up some lumber yards, but I'm just wondering if any local heads actually happen to know where I can go to get some without having to make calls/road trips all day. So if anyone can help me save some time and gas and point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Thanks EDIT: Also if you know of a place that has it, would you happen to know if they cut it there also so I can fit it into my car?
  17. Gotta love 3pc wheels. kandy paint as in HOK brand? Can't wait to see, I see a few cars driving around Sac with kandy paint jobs but whoever sprayed it did horrible jobs. Paint looks extremely cloudy/ blotchy. Not just any painter can spray it correctly. I would love to see the face of the rims color matched with the paint job though. Would look 100x better then the black but that's just my opinion. Or kandy blue fade like one of these, actually think I had a pic of a caddy or hoe painted candy blue with color matched 3pc 6's or 8's on it but can't find the pic.
  18. Practice ring, going to go pick up a fresh sheet of MDF and get to work.
  19. I'm looking at the Campbell Hausfeld 60-Gallon from lowes too, Need to sand and re-finish the deck in the back yard, paint the frame and belly of two cars, uss a DA sander for a few fiberglass projects. Probably end up selling the whole thing though after Im done with both of these cars here and downgrade to a smaller portable unit for tire inflating and little things like that.
  20. You cant mount the crossovers somewhere behind the door panel?
  21. Are there any machine shops in sac anyone can recommend? Got this engine that needs some work done. Please dont come in here and just drop a phone number or some shops names cause I know where some are at, I just want to know if anyone here can recommend one they personally have had work done at or know of someone that has had work done a certain shop that did not good but great work lol. O yeah this is for a 350 Lt1 engine by the way.
  22. Lets be realistic people, I dont think he wants to race anyone and he wouldnt need all that power from a 383 let alone the bill he would have to pay after its done. Plus it be no point in doing a 383 imo unless he going forged internals and either spraying it or forced induction. If Anything I would say do an LT1 350. Can usually find one real cheap on craigslist. You can get a stock rebuild kit from summit for some where around $500. A nice lil cam reuse your heads and intake. Would be more reliable and last longer then an reg carb 350. Better gas milage and when built right and taken care of these engines can easily go past 200,000++ miles running strong... Although a carb 350 would be way cheap to build..Either way u may want to get a new rear end anyways.. Even with a mild 350 you will probably blow that rear to shit, your tranny too.
  23. O damn, thats nice... I know you got some subs in there? How does it take it with all the vibration?
