I have been getting a lot of PM's about my gauge in the center console, so I decided to post up some info. It is an Aeroforce Interceptor scanguage from http://www.aeroforcetech.com/ They cost $239 and are presently available for american cars/trucks, and Mazdas. It plugs into the OBD port under the dash and has no other connections to the car. It is "read only" and does not alter performance in any way. It comes in various colors and can display two parameters onscrean at at a time. It does have a performance meter and shift lights too! If you need more, you can piggyback two gauges, they can be ordered direct online. I am not affiliated with Aeroforce in any way, though I did some prototype testing on the gauge for them. Here is a list of what it can show: RPM MPH Intake Air Temperature (post Intercooler) Ambient Air Temperature (pre Intercooler) Engine Coolant Temperature Exhaust Gas Temperature (PCM Calculated) Transmission Temp. (auto trans) Manifold Pressure (vacuum/boost) displayed in PSI Fuel Temperature Battery Voltage Battery Temp Alternator % Injector Pulse Width in msec. Thats cool that the studio is up and running and showing you some love, too! I tried downloading some songs from Chickens myspace page, but when I played them they were only 4 sec long, so when I get home I am gonna try them again, I must've done something wrong! they sound awesome! Custom Tahoe and Hoopty music coming in the future?

So it's cool to order through that link, and we don't have to bother Steve directly? I want a T-shirt once they are shipping! ....I already hit up Derrick for some SMD and other decals! -

Sorry to hear about the theft, you gotta add insurance. I added coverage for all my mods to my PT, it's not that expensive. -
Be patient, I was in the same boat years ago- living at home while I was paying for my own college working full time, with no other bills and bought myself a nice Audi A4 for $30k. Young is young and everyone wants a sports car. If you just have to do it, then get the Infinity instead and put the rest of the money in the bank for when you want to trade the infinity. Set a price limit and stick to it. Ok, my old 36 yr self will stop lecturing you, just saying be patient and make the smart choice, you can drive all your family around in the infinity and they will be impressed at how nice it is, as opposed to stuffing them into the hatch of the vette! When you are 40 get the vette as a second car.

F 250 King Ranch

Nice work! ....so do you speak directly to the Ai-net or do you 'use the force'??? -
I still say that each size sub has it's own sound characteristics. For example, I have a good friend who used to be a drummer and an IASCA judge, he has a 12 in his PT and we compared that to the 15 I had in mine last year. Both Kicker subs, he said that there was noticeable depth that the 12 lacked. Now, with a few recent buids here on SMD with a lot of smaller subs, I asked him how do those compare with same power going to 4 18"s, and he said the same, that larger subs just seem to be able to go lower with more authority than multiple smaller subs, it's just a different kind of sound.

Ok I'll just get the rosin core wire Steve recommends in his tutorial, and no flux, Thanks everyone!
-
I was wondering if using flux helps getting the solder wire to flow better when it melts, or is it just kinda a surface prep?
-
Ok guys, I gotta get started on the 1/0 this weekend, is this what I need? Lowes, $19.99, and do you guys use the flux or not? Steves tutorial post shows no flux, but then again he is a pro at this!

Clean Bass
ptcary replied to bassbaker15's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
Is it midbass you are after? I have a 9312 and also an Alpine deck and the Jensen deck has no real power to it at all. It needs an external amp and eq. Now the Alpine deck running the same speakers has more internal power and cleaner signal, just not as many features as the 9312. Seems to me you would need an external eq and some good midbass speakers. -

Need Help With Box Design For 4 12's.
ptcary replied to 2001JeepGrandCherokee's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
I say if you have the room go ported, subs up- port back. I used to have 4 12"s sealed in my PT (2 up and 2 back) and it got loud all right, (had nice cabin gain) - but not really low. There is cabin gain to be had in a box kinda like Steves, if ported is what you are after and you are not interested in a wall.
