Everything Stolen!
moh.vze.com replied to lgn0213's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
Fucking thieves. I hope whoever stole that shit gets his/her car stolen. Karma FTW -
So, I'm trying to come up with a good research topic for my formal report which is due a few months from now and will need to be at least 7 pages long. This is a technical writing class so I'm assuming I'll be allowed to use some pictures and bullets, so 7 pages won't be hard. I guess. Anyways, I need help choosing my research topic + research questions Can you help me choose a topic? Some topics examples are: upgrading a computer system, purchasing a color printer, digital camera or DVD player, refinancing a house, investigating investment opportunities, and choosing an ISP. Ok Ok. I know you're about to reply with a message say "go away and do your own homework and research". Before you do that, hear me out. The reason why I am posting here is because after I looked at the example topics given, it gave me an idea of choosing my topic to be related to car audio. I'm planning on doing research on how to do my next 2,300$ build, so why not use some of the stuff I'm learning in a research project right? So, as for my research topic, I guess it's "Car Audio?" It's probably too vague and I might need you guys help narrowing it down. As far as "Research questions" go (questions I will be researching and including in my report), here's a list of what I'm thinking about doing: What are the steps one must take before buying a sub-woofer? - Setting a limit - Knowing what else that will be needed (amp, wiring and etc). - How to research online for products - The things one must be wary about when going to best buy / circuit city Well, that's just an idea I had. I don't know if it's going to be capable of having 7 pages or not. Should I make a more vague "topic" and do like "The steps in setting up the perfect audio system for your car" and then cover topics listed above and also how to install things also? Should I cover fundamentals of electric circuits in the report? Note: I'm still working on my Electrical Engineering major. I've taken all my calculus and math classes required. I have knowledge on ideal laws of circuits and such. However, I have no experience in hooking up my own system. I plan on doing A LOT of reading on what to buy and how to hook things up. I know I won't be able to use all of the things I'll be finding for my report, but hopefully with your guys help, I'll know exactly that is usable. By the way, I was going to take the easy way out and do the topic "how to choose an ISP provider", but I much rather write on something I truly want to do research on. Yep. SMD community seems like a smart community. So this will be the 3rd and final forum I'll make this post at God bless you SMD.

I've heard my friend's Dual 12'' Cerwin Vega 12 vmax in his Honda Civic. Let me tell you, those subs hit probably 4 times harder than my dual 12'' edesignaudio.com 13kv's. I have also listened to a pair of Rockford Fosgate HX2 12'' strapped on a Nine.1 amp and I'll have to say the Cerwin Vegas hit probably 2 times harder than what I was hearing. Now for sound quality... Cerwin vegas vmax hit hard but after a while I was getting tired of the bass because everynote had a goddamn bass lol. The sound quality on my dual eD 13kv's are probably 5 times cleaner than the cerwin vega vmaxs'. I have a question. Can anyone tell me if the sound quality of the Fi BTL is worst than the cerwin vega? I"ve already been through the "SQ" thing with my eD. I'm kinda wanting to try a new setup with a lot of bass just so I can have some experience. I'm thinking about the daily 15'' Fi BTL but how does it compare to a Cerwin Vega? I heard SQ wise, Kicker l7 > type-r > fi BTL From what I've heard, kicker l7 sounds like "plastic". How does Cerwin vega sound compared to a kicker l7 SQ wise? (hmm. I probably should have started a new topic for the bottom half of this post. my bad ><)

If it was me, I'd be worried about doing something stupid and drilling into something important on the other side -.- -

Stock Car Alarms?
moh.vze.com replied to moh.vze.com's topic in Security Center - Car/Home Alarms, devices, tactics, tips....
Hmm. How loud do these alarms go off? Are there anything out there that will go as loud as a cop siren? lol. Of course, I'd like to have it to only go off that loud when glass is broken or doors open when it shouldn't be open -
So, if I already have a stock car Alarm for my 1999 Camry, is it worth it to upgrade to a better alarm or what? If I upgrade to say a "Viper", how does this prevent my $3,000 system to be stolen (haven't bought the system yet). If I am the kind of guy that goes to school full time and I spend most of my time in the school buildings, will these upgraded car alarms protect my system from being jacked? How much of an improvement is it say if my car is being broken into with a stock alarm going off vs a Viper Alarm going off?
