  1. Been running my DC Audio 2x 12" XLM2's on DC 5K for 8 years full tilt every time I drive my car. The system is still running strong with no signs of problems. I'm very impressed with the quality of the DC Audio products.

My condolences, hope you can get it up and playing again. Did you figure out what happened to cause it, or do you think just abuse throughout the years?

  2. I'm about to swap out all my 6 year old XS Power batteries with new ones. However, after topping off my 6yr old XP3000 and leaving it in the garage disconnected, it's actually holding a stable voltage of 13.18V after 24 hours. Does mean the battery is still good? I was thinking about tagging it along with the two new XP3000's and D2400 but I don't want it to slowly kill my new batteries. Is it a bad idea to use old an new batteries together?
  3. Hmm. I took the 6 year old XS Power D2400 and XP3000 out of my car for replacements and it's still able to hold a charge 13V+ after 6 hours. We'll see how well the voltage holds in 24 hours outside the car.

Update: Checked the 6yr old XS XP3000 after 24 hours of sitting in the garage off and the voltage is holding 13.18V

The battery seems to be holding its voltage well for a 6yr old battery. Would it be a bad idea to wire them up with my 2x new XP3000's?

  4. I remember reading on the forums that the new DC5K can't be strapped with the older models.
  5. I am thinking about upgrading this Summer and would like to strap on a second DC5K but I have the old original all black model. I was wondering if DC Audio still have any in stock? I heard you can't strap the new DC5K model with the old one.
  6. Every year I buy girls scout cookies when they come knocking on my door. But I just realized I've never actually received any of my cookies... wtf?

  7. Does the Blackvue have motion alerts to your phone when in parking mode? My Thinkware dashcams doesn't have those features. All of my home cameras (Ring and Nest Eco-System) have motion alerts notifications sent to my phone and lets me view the video to see what happens. Can you show us some video footage of your drives in the forest roads? I get a lot of artifacts from trees driving in forest roads. I use a Cellink Neo and a Cellink Pro 2nd Gen (neo is better and lets you check battery status via blutooth on phone) and I think they're great. The NEO charges pretty quick. Just sitting in the parking lot with my engine idled while I eat my lunch would charge it from 11% to 80% very easily. I never had a problem with its charge depleting all the way to 0% before. I don't drive much either. 15 minute drive a day and maybe 15 minute idled at lunch. So when in parking mode, my Thinkware F770 uses power from the Cellink Neo and my F800 Pro uses the Cellink B 2nd Gen and my Thinkware F110 just drains all three of my car batteries. It would be nice if there was a way to get my Cellink batteries to charge WITH my three car batteries when I have it on the ctek over night though. In conclusion, I don't know if the Cellink "Dashcam" batteries are worth it. I was told they were since they were engineered towards "Dashcams" and would be more efficient than buying more AGM car batteries.
  8. omg. i missed the promotion Oh well good luck guys! I was one of the winners from that Alpha damp years ago on facebook
  9. I think Anforny broke the website cause some of the images are not in the image box
  10. Are the internals the same with the older style DC Audio heat sink (all black) vs the new one (white stripes)?
  11. Damn. I should have bought the D3100's during the eBay 20% discount promo then :(. I don't know what I was thinking. I'll keep in mind and purchase all of my future batteries from ShowTime Electronics though. Are there tools for stress testing batteries so I can stress test that AudioSavings' XP3000 and compare it to the Showtime Electronics?
  12. Damn. I guess buying batteries online it's all about luck if the battery will make it to you in one piece or not. There was a guy on this forum that had a thread up about his battery leaking after only using for three years. It makes you wonder how he initially received his battery in the mail. My XS Power Batteries from 2012 were able to last until this very day probably because nothing was damaged during the shipping process.
  13. True. I just checked my Showtime Electronics XS Power D2400 unboxing video (I'll upload that one later) and it came with only the XS Power packaging. However though, the Packaging on the XP3000 from Showtime Electronics was double boxed (can't remember if they were XS Power boxes) with Styrofoam). I didn't record the unboxing video of the XP3000 from Showtime Electronics though. Nonetheless, it's sad to see Audio Savings skimp out on boxing the expensive batteries. In 2012, they were my go-to dealers for car batteries whenever my friends needed an XS Power Battery.
  14. I bought an XS Power XP3000 from AudioSavings (XS Power Authorized Dealer and EX-SMD Vendor) and the package severely was damaged. I don''t know if it was damaged from the AudioSavings' Warehouse or by UPS. The XS Power XP3000 and D2400 that I bought from Showtime Electronics on eBay arrived with not a single dent on the box. I've bought batteries (XS D2400 and XP3000) from AudioSavings back in 2012 when they were still a vendor here on SMD forum and those batteries are still running strong until this day (6 years later). However, with the current XP3000, do you guys think the battery cells were damaged based on the appearance of the package? If you guys think it should be fine, I'd rather not have to ship it back to them for a replacement. I was comparing the XP3000 from AudioSavings with the Showtime Electronics one and for some reason the sticker on the AudioSavings looked newer compared to the Showtime Electronics (blue sticker looked faded). The Showtime Electronics XP3000 has been sitting in the garage without the charger and is able to hold a 13V voltage since I've received it so I think that one should be good. Here's a comparison of what the packaging looked like from AudioSavings back in 2012 (they double boxed). AudioSavings Packaging 2012 AudioSavings Packaging 2018: I didn't record the packaging done by Showtime Electronics (eBay) but if I remember correctly it was double-boxed also and voltage was ~13V out of the box.
  15. Does an XS Power Battery still lose some of its life overtime if I don't use it and just leave it on the trickle charge for 1 year? I have 3 new XS Power batteries but am debating if I should install them now or a year later. I only bought them because of the 20% eBay discount. I was gonna save the batteries unused and buy more batteries later and use them all at once so that they are all in new conditions. Also, these don't have manufacture dates on them do they? Sometimes I wonder how many years they've been sitting on standby in the warehouse from these retailers.
  16. Damn. I'd like to know what could have caused that too! Luckily my XS D2400 under the hood is 6 years old (bought from AudioSavings a while back) and still running strong. I charged them every night on my CTEK US7200 also. I'll be replacing my D2400 and 2x XP3000 sometime later this year (bought them with 20% eBay discount promo a while back from Showtime Electronics [these actually arrived with a nice ~13V out of the box]and AudioSavings) just for the hell of it. I remember XS Power said their batteries should last about 5 years.
  17. Hoping for toolmakermetalworkz to bring the 6 Lug Battery Terminals back into production for my new XP3000 Batteries ~.~

The ones im talking about arent skyhigh, unless theyre rebranded? But the ones i have are super heavy, u can see them on my battery on my recent pic posts of my trunk on the charger.

      These ones look interesting

      https://droppinhzcaraudio.com/jims-machineworx-flat-5-lug-bolt-style-battery-terminal-pair/

but I need the ones where the battery mount is in the middle because I have a XS Power clamp down bar for my battery that might short out the terminals.

Toolmaker had these similar ones too but again it's hard for me to connect things without shorting out:

Here's the middle bar clamp down I'm talking about:

Oh ok i get what ur saying now, yah jims dont have any like that with a center bolt location. Unless you go with the setscrew type, they have those like this. But id prefer the bolt down with ring terminal style too.

  18. Probably too much power. The DC Audio XLM2's handle that better. I've been running my XLM2's for over 5 years on the DC 5K and haven't blown it yet. Gain was set at -4.6dB overlap with the SMD DD-1+ because I listen to a lot of decaf and got160's at full tilt. But then again, it might handle it fine depending on the box rise and such =_=.
