  1. you wouldn't be talk'n bout toothless jeff would you? or maybe even weeks...lmao
  2. Definately go with RF. Hifonics amps are overrated. Yeah they may be cheap...but you pay for quality.
  3. Let me first say that NOS doesn't belong on a stock car. Not because of how dangerous it is, but just because the compressions ratio is to high. There is a lot of mis information about NOS due to to many people knowing what it is and not a fraction of those people have ever messed with it. The biggest misconseption about NOS is that it will destroy the motor. Let me clear the air by saying this is untrue. There are 2 items that make NOS Dangerous 1) What kills the motor is giving it a shot of hp with a stock or higher compression ratio and not giving the extra pressure in the motor a place to escape (which is why most people in high hp ranges port the heads), resulting in the head gasket usually busting a leak. The same happens when you start pumping in LPG, Water Methane...etc. 2) Most People don't understand that NOS was designed to be used in a 1:1 gear ratio. So typically you inject a shot in 3/4 gear pending on the vehicle and then you allow your 4 or 5 gear to burn out the NOS. I've seen a lot of people take off in 1st and then inject NOS in 2nd gear. Due to the gear ratio's what typically happens is that the motor over revs...causing severe damage. If the driver knows how to use the NOS it isn't so dangerous. But because the general public is not educated about how to use it, is why there are so many horror stories about it. The only true downfall to NOS is the price to refill the bottle. For the cost, I'd rather pump in LPG, though it does burn hotter.
  4. I was looking at a box that is similar, that replaces the center console, but I do need to keep the armrest, as that is my laptop station. What sucks about the box below though is that it is only 7 inches deep..where as I need a bit more to fit some FI subs..
  5. awesome pics man...that chi is cool.. The wife and I actually have two chi's..they are pretty cool dogs. I'm not sure how much you know about that breed..but watch their tempermant. We went through some training with our dogs and were told by our vet and breeder that due to the size if chi's, they are border line diabetic... The cure is to give them like a spoonful of plain yogurt once a week, or get some yogurt treats from petsmart. For some reason the bacteria in yogurt helps regulate the sugar levels in the dogs. We can now tell when our dogs are going to have mood swings..lol Here's our pups
  6. It will fit with ease. My first car was a 96 cavalier and I stuffed a 305 in it. I only had to do 2 true mods. 1) have my buddy weld me up some engine mounts. (Simple) 2) due to the air intake I put on it, I had to get a ram air type hood (cheap) The car was an auto tranny, so I just teamed it up with a decent 4 spd tranny and that car ripped.
  7. Not trying to discourage you...but I really wouldn't waste the time on twincharging. It sounds like a good idea, but with how new it is and how much it is going to cost between parts, labor, tuning, upgrading your powertrain and tranny (to hold the power) and clutching the charger you pretty much just bought a new motor....and at the end of the day, you still have a 4 cylinder. In my honest opinion....taken the experience that I have ripping motors apart, replacing parts, fixing parts..etc. I'd go buy a small block crate motor (like a 305 or something), team it up with a decent tranny, uprade the powertrain and you'll have more power out of the gate and still be able to upgrade it, vs putting a 4 cylinder to it's limits and risking breaking it.
  8. Yeah its not cool at all. Doing a glass enclosure in back (locally was quoted $1200) they can only get about 6 - 6.5 inches of depth, where as the fox box (www.foxacoustics.com) can get almost 7 inches. For the supercrewsound box only the console box will fit the 06 (up to 7 5/8 depth, using thinner wood). For some odd reason, dodge put different storage bins under the rear seat in the 06 and 07 trucks. If you get a good look at the truck, you'll see that passenger side storage bin is about double the width of the driver side...errgg. So the only way to get even airspace is to glass it and make a single chambered enclosure for both subs. I'm telling you...working with this truck sucks. Kev
  9. Hey bro.. if you find anything, let me know. I'm trying to find a way to get some subs in my truck right now..it too is an 06 dodge ram. These trucks have no friggin space. I've been working with Scott over at FI and he's offered to build me some custom subs, but these trucks just don't have enough air space. you can check out www.foxacoustics.com or www.supercewsound.com for some prefab enclosures, but they really are nothing to gloat about. I'm actually trying to find away to squeeze either dual 10's or 12's in..
  10. I've already talked to one of the guys about it and well, he chuckled and about hung up the phone on me. Guess he isn't a fan of chargers...i'll see if I can get his attention again.
  11. Hey dude..hit me up on IM and I can piont you in the right direction. There are some guys in the diesel world who actually make a living by producing turbos. I'm not sure what you are wanting to do with the fuel system in combination with the turbo, but I know 2 guys off hand in which can get you some pretty definately answers.
  12. I am running vista business at work. Though I really like the new interface and functionality, I wouldn't upgrade just yet. I have 3 major gripes to vista that I am continuing to work on with no luck. 1) Due to the new security engancements, the Cisco VPN client absolutely doesn't work on it. YET 2) I run and HP 8240 laptop and HP and Texas Instrument haven't made PCMCIA drivers that work with vista yet. So my remote support is limited with work, due to not being able to use my Sprint PCS card. 3) Vista has comptelely changed the registry, so there are several applications that we run, including office add-ins, that absolutely will not install So make sure you have a plan B to back yourself out if it you find some incompatibiliities with stuff that you must have. Personally, i'd wait a couple of months and let things settle down with it.
  13. Hold up guys...let's look at this from a different perspective. Power doesn't make you faster, Skill does. So your question is "If I want to get a fast start, what do I need?" PRACTICE! Power does not make up for a drivers skill. The first item on the agenda. Gauges. Understand what your vehicle is doing. Once you understand the limits to your engine (I.E. oil pressures, Exhaust Gas temps, etc), then you can start working on how high you can get your rpm's and braking power before your tires break lose. You want to launch before your tires break loose. Without knowing their limits, you won't get anywhere. Power will just make your tires break loose sooner...bad for good starts.
  14. both kits look the same. Just different manufactures. Don't believe the hype that they advertise about HP and increased fuel mileage. You definately get better throttle response, but don't "Expect" it Kev
  15. Unfortunately all engine/powertrain upgrades must be labeled as off-road use only, due to the safety issues and warranty issues. Which really cracks me up. What the heck is anyone going to do with a 100 shot of nitrous off road..lmao Just imagine the rock crawlers shooting nitrous.. ;D
  16. Sorry guys..but I was laughing my tail off when I watched that video. that guy is going to have some real bad problems hit very quickly. If you listen he's huff'n his turbo everytime he switches gears. I've gone through several turbos and know that sound. Most likely within a few hundred miles the shaft is going to break and send parts flying all over. JJ - I highly doubt GM will put that kind of setup on the market. It would have to pass CARB and EPA first and honestly, that is not an easy task.
  17. I've never charged from a supe and a turbo..but I've done several installs of dual turbos...and boy when them things spool...get out of the way!!! lmao I remember one of my buddies in Cali...before he passed, had his truck spooling about 100lbs of boost...and there was no such thing as traction on that truck. Honestly, with running the charger through the intake and the turbo off of the manifold...sounds riskly. I'd be interested in talking to some engineers to see how much pressure would actually be injected into the motor and what the motors limit is. I personally wouldn't try it.
  18. With your HID's being a conversion kit, you shouldn't have to worry about wiring around your DRLs. They will be wired to a different relay as most cars use a different bulb for the DRL's (hense the reason why they are dimmer).
  19. Are they full set HID's or are they conversions? Also, do you have 1 light that is both high/low beam or do you have dual bulbs (one high, one low). Most vehicles have a single bulb for both high and low beam..which means you have a floating ground. Which means you'll have to wire them up seperate from your stockers without doing a lot of wire modding.
  20. Computer???? Nah..on one of dem like 16 hours a day...let's throw down on XBL
  21. Yes, running without the muff's illegal in CA, as Clean Air Commifornia requires inspections...lol Hit up Flowmaster. Meade said there was someone on this board in which was one of the big shots for them...
