The evaporator works on the surrounding area plus it absorbs heat and humidity, If I keep my window cracked, and keep the heat on, I'll have a home made evap in the winter

use dry ice so there wont be water spitting out the vents immediately from the ice cubes melting lol

How would not having a/c cause you do not have heat? Ineffective defrost perhaps but heat as a whole?
