  1. We're back from the Holidays and ready for an exciting new year! We have quite a few new products going into production over the next few months. Our new DynamoXL series of large case conversion kits are in full production as of January 1st. These 150 amp units are specially engineered for extreme output on vehicles with EXTREMELY low engine idle speeds, such as late model imports and other vehicles limited with small crankshaft pulleys. These units crank out massixe output, even as low as 500 RPM!! They are built with the same beefy housings as our 300 amp units, so they are more than durable at 150 amps. Best of all, these units are sale priced starting at only $249 !! Feel free to call or e-mail for details about the new DynamoXL. Also, we will be unveiling the new www.mechman.com website for an exciting new layout with customer rides, videos, a massive tech section and more!! 1-888-MECHMAN
  2. No problem. Looks like we are all sold out now. Thanks everyone!!!
  3. Just a heads up that MechMan will be closed untill Jan. 2 2009 to allow our guys time to relax and enjoy time with their families. I will still check voicemails at 1-888-MECHMAN periodically , and will try to answer e-mails once a day. Have a Merry Christmas and a happy new year!!!
  4. I have several left. Let me know if you want some. Thanks Matt
  5. Untill they are all gone, LOL. They are selling like hotcakes on E-bay.
  6. We are actually the only company that has a direct bolt-in large case conversion that doesn't require grinding on the 2.2L engine. We machine the housing so that is bolts right in. We have several options 140 amp CS (80 at idle) w/ built in adjustable voltage for $249 200 amp (125 at idle) Large case ProPower for $299 250 amp (150 at idle Large case StreetBeat w/ built in adjustable voltage for $399 All include a dyno sheet and a one year warranty. Let me know if you need any other specs!! thanks Matt 1-888-MECHMAN www.MECHMAN.com
  7. These puppies are now SOLD OUT. thanks everyone!!
  8. For some applications, the stock size charge post is fine, for others, it's nice to have something bigger. To be fair, some charge posts are cast right into the rectifier assembly and can't be made bigger, so you can't always increase the size depending on the unit. We have upgraded the size whenever possible.
  9. Gotcha. The $399 Unit has adjustable voltage, 70 amp diodes, a hotter rotor (10-20 amps more at idle) and an oversized ground lug. The $299 Unit has 50 amp diodes, and a heavy duty fixed voltage regulator. Either of them will be comperable to Origional equipment durability, they arn't even breaking a sweat at 200 amps with those components.
  10. From what I've seen, our 200 amp unit is pretty similar to the Powermaster. All of the Powermaster units that I've seen use an OEM type bearing, which is fine, but I've had better luck with NTN. Every Powermaster unit I've seen also has a stock size charge post, whereas most of ours have an oversized charge post. I havn't inspected every all of their stuff, but it seems like we generally use a heavier rectifier than what I've seen them use. To be fair, all of the Powermaster units that I've tested did put out what they where supposed to amperage wise, so I can't really say that they are over rated.
  11. OK, sweet, whatever that means. If people are going to sell against my product, at least have the courtesy to do it somewhere besides my own vendor section. Thanks! Matt
  12. That is a differnent unit, and has different features, which is why it is more expensive. The unit that compares to the 48203 is only $299.
  13. DO NOT disconect the charge wire while the vehicle is running, that can damage the alternator. All you need to do is measure the battery voltage with the engine not running (should be 12-13 volts) Then start the vehicle, and measure battery voltage again. Voltage should come up to 13.8-14.8 volts. If the battery voltage doesn't increase when you start the engine, the alternator is not charging.
  14. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.a...mp;autoview=sku FYI - We are actually $59 cheaper than the Powermaster unit.
  15. Our 200 amp CS144 is only $299, FYI. Ours does about 125 amps at idle, which seams to be the same as PM. thanks Matt
  16. For a Limited time, we are offering an easy way for you to buy premium MechMan alternators and recieve a true dealer discount. Buy any (4) StreetBeat or Comp series alternator kits, and recieve a FULL 25% off the entire order and FREE domestic shipping. This means that the same alternator that would normally sell for $399 is available to you for $299- $499 kits are only $374.25 to your door. If you own your own Audio shop, or just do a lot of garage installs, this is an easy way for you to make a good proffit margin on simple alternator upgrades. This is a legitimate 25% discount, you or your customers won't find these units cheaper on the web or anywhere else. This is that same discount that normally involves a $3,000 buy-in. This offer good for a limited time only. * This promotion cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount of giveway, existing dealers are not eligable. Alternator shipments need to be paid for by a single method of payment, and shipped to a single address. Discount valid on qualifying order only. We also have discounted chrome, polished and powdercoated units and alternator stands that make a great window display for Audio/custom shops- call for details. Start making money on alternators today!! 1-888-MECHMAN www.mechman.com
  17. x3. There is no way to get 200 amps out of a CS130D with ANY kind ouf output at idle. Good luck with that.
  18. We don't have a dual setup for that truck, but we do have some heafty 250 and 320 amp units available as a direct bolt-in.
  19. We have the StreetBeat Kit for the Honda that is conservatively rated at 250 amps with 150 at idle which is priced at $499. By next week we hope to launch our new budget conscious series of 150 - 200 amp large case conversions that crank out 100-125 amps at idle, depending on the vehicle. THe cool part about these new kits, is that they will still be based on the late model large case design just like their StreetBeat big brother, so they won't even be breaking a sweat at that amperage level. This new kit will likely be priced at $349. If you are interested, I could put you at the front of the wait list for it's release. For the S-10, we offer a Comp series 320 amp large case conversion unit for $449 (includes itegrated adjustable voltage feature), a StreetBeat 250 amp large case conversion for $399(includes itegrated adjustable voltage feature), and a standard medium case 150 amp unit (90 at idle) for $299 also available with adjustable voltage.
  20. This promotion has now ended. We have Brand new 1005 chargers available for $259 shipped. Thanks everyone!!!
  21. Awww, I'm starting to feel all warm and fuzzy, LOL Thanks for the feedback.
  22. Thanks go out to Steve and everone else who has given us positive feedback. I hope to have a couple stickied tech threads completed with lots of pics to help people identify alternator problems and what not. Hopefully this section will be a resource for all SMD members.
  23. I still have a bunch of these chargers available. I will do them for $179 shipped to the 48 states now. holler- 1-888-MECHMAN
