in 1997 I bought a sony full logic auto reverse cassette deck with 13 watts rms x 4, rca pre outs, and a joystick remote all for about $120. I gave it to my brother after I "upgraded" to a Xplod CD deck, which died after a couple of years. My brother is still using the tape deck.

If you built it 35.5x35.5x14 outer dim with 3/4 in wood you'd have internal 8.35 cubes before displacement. With a port, bracing and sub displacement I'm thinking 7-ish cubes. Been a while since I built a box, though.

I sold my JL 10s 3 months ago for just enough to buy a sheet of MDF, glue and jig saw blades. That money was "re-purposed" by the wife to go out to dinner, so I've been bass-less since. Not that it was that great, but it was something. I've been eating $1 Michelenas for lunch for months now to save up but it always goes elsewhere. I love my kids and wife and all, but we waste a lot of money on eating out and spoiling them.

If you do your big 3 and a run to your amp with 2 or 1/0 gauge you should be fine with the d3400 and stock alt. What car?

I kinda got out of this when I was 17, just before DB Drag took off. What I find now is that it's not so much cone area but Xmax, power handling, and box build are what make DBs. OP... Seriously if I were you, I would reconsider the fact that your gains aren't set properly, and look at stickies on setting gains in the amp section of the forum. After that, you should be able to experiment with bass boost, however, once you learn about gains you will most likely not give a shit about boost. IJS.

Ok voltage going to amp while playing is 14.7 constantly. so thats good I just set the meter to V- 200m and its at 0.00 right now on AUX channel with no volume up so i think that is what i was suspose to do. Also the DMM is on the DC side and negative in same spot. I hope im doing this right. So with that said.. what now power wire check? No I meant check the voltage on the + and - going to your sub. Should be pretty close to 0.00 (may have .02 or .04 volts and be ok) If it's way off like 2 or 4 volts check the amp. also plug in a iPod or somethign directly to the amp with a 3.5mm to RCA cable. See if you're getting the same bad signal. It's completely possible you crushed your RCAs and grounded them out when you replaced the power cable.

Think about how much surface contact there is with glue vs. screws... Use titebond II and it will hold as tight as the resin they use in the MDF itself.

Just to throw more ideas atcha -check/tighten your fuse holder, also try replacing it. Looks like you may have a real lack of current going to your amp. Test the voltage going to your amp while trying to play it, should be steady 12-15v for as little output as I see in the vid. -Turn your system on, and measure the output of the amp with nothing playing. If it's not 0.00 then your amp is toast. This is called DC Offset. Hopefully your amp is still under warranty. Good luck, dude.

That rear deck is gettin busy! Love that temporal aliasing where your sub looks like it's flexing in waves, LOL. I'm looking at a LV4 sometime in the moderately near future and every vid i see with a DC makes me want one even more. If you got a build log link it here please, and what gear are you running?

The build affects the numbers at the end. I saw a guy hit high 160s on one 15 and 15k burps on a TL. Yeah you gotta have the gear but in the end it's 80/20 build/gear.
