get the new deh-p5100 cant go wrong, or even the 4100, i like the 51 though

yes, you can make your own, monster sells just the ends, and you can solder on your own leads or crimp or whatever. something like this http://www.monstercable.com/productdisplay.asp?pin=631 i've seen one or two people who took like primary cable and twisted it themselves and soldered it to those... swear by them and i cant say that they're wrong, twisted pair rejects noise, and apparantly shielding them just makes them into big antennas, lol or you can just buy anything twisted, knu, stinger, etc....just make sure its twisted

How To Make Trimmed Rings For Speakers...
raytard replied to Sik's topic in Fabrication, Fiberglass, Etc
looks like he made the rings, ran led's around the inside, and then mounted from the rear (especially since the panels were off to mount it) that seems like the most likely way to me, and how i'd personally do it if i wanted that effect.. -
M.. My.. My Truck

most people have like a 500 dollar deductable, you might be better off just paying the rest off out of pocket to save on the insurance going up... could be worse though, i witnessed a guy do the same thing in a brand spanking new f250, but he was dumb and just kept going. broke the running board off (like tore metal and stuff), then the back wheel went to it, on it, over it, and dropped off in a way that the truck dropped onto the muddler tip and then the bumper, pushing the bumper a good 4 or 5 inches up. I thought it was hilarious, he was in a rage. -

we had like poker runs i guess you could say...20 mile loops with 5 checkpoints, basically it started and everyone knew they had to head to some landmark, like a friendlies, but didnt know which one, when you got there (to the right one) you got a stamp and were told where to go next. used to be like $20 to play and winner got like 100-200 depending on how many raced sooooooo dangerous though, im so surprised none of us died or got arrested -

yea, it got really nice here and now its been snowing for like 20 hours straight im so sick of upstate ny weather -
the hifonics, although well overrated, should be good for 1300-1400rms at 1ohm, and the aq1200 is right about the same really...but would you rather run maxsonix stuff crammed in a little shiny box or AQ stuff with a nice big heatsink?

you can get a jensen, lol or an audiovox/phaselinear jumpoff buy it from a brick and mortar so you can return it a few times to get a fully functioning one i had to go through 3 to get a working one in our display board

type r...if you're going to put the power to it rms is a bit higher, and its a bit less stiff, and personally i think it just sounds cleaner. p3 isnt bad by any means, i would just choose a type r.

i found one or two floating around the internet for download, like someone just compiled a bunch of youtube vids or tivo'd mtv or something and put it online. idk if thats against the pirating rules on the forum though, so i'm not posting a link, i dont think playing something publically available in a different format is illegal, but what the hell do i know about copyright law?

Dowgrade Questions
raytard replied to Ram's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
4 8's really well done will basically be as loud as 2 decent 12's one 18 can get louder, and i think an 8 is more impressive but 8's could be done sooooo much nicer with the space in there and not to be a creep, but i was lookin at your photobucket and one pic looks like a lot off DPA and one looks like the kings park sanitarium, and if i'm right you're probably pretty close to me -

getting loud with 8's only impresses people who are into audio everyone else just goes "why do all that power and an insane box to get 8's that loud when you couldve just done 2 15's? -

not sure if i asked this before but whereabouts in long island are you? the o2's shouldve given it away, but i clicked your cardomain and saw ur on the island -
could divide your horse shoe shape into a rough rectangle and a triangle, all you need really is a straight edge and a tape measure and like a minute to do the calculations (LxWxH for the rectangle, and 1/2LxWxH for the triangle), should be pretty close or the peanut thing, but if its going to be a little off either way, might as well do it the fast and not messy way...

17hz
raytard replied to FiBTLforlife's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
yea, sometimes the little stuff is what causes it like my gains not being set wrong, just the cd i was listening to was clipped off the start, or an rca getting pinched in a sill plate and grounding out causing some funky ass signals to get passed through box tuning is a mystery to a lot of people, if he said he thought it was 34, and then 17, it honestly could be anything, wouldnt be the first time i saw someone drill a 4 inch hole into a sealed box and call it ported. honestly, buyer beware...you're off the hook, he cant do anything, so just leave him to his own devices. that or like drew said, reinstall it in yours, play it, let him see its something with his setup, and tell him to figure it out cuz what he bought by himself and installed himself isnt your problem. i sold some guy my dirtbike and he calls me back, screaming into the phone, 6 months later saying it wont start. People dont realize that once you buy something and use it, anything that happens is on them. -
17hz
raytard replied to FiBTLforlife's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
it could be one of dozens of things. noone really mentioned rca's or headunit problem. try putting a different sub in there and seeing what happens yet? is it really 17hz or does he think its 17? considering how strange that is, i wouldnt rule it out as being incorrect (and it being like a 47hz box and he bottomed it out or something) have you actually inspected it or are you just troubleshooting over the phone? -

did noone notice the fact that an 18 is relatively uncommon? i think that would be more impressive. the box would be 2-3 times the size though, so idk about making it pretty, it kinda limits your options -
looks nice, what are they tuned to? and why no 45 in that corner? it may help out quite a bit considering how much air is getting moved through there

oh, a little pointer, look at RMS wattage, max they can pretty much print anything they damn well please, which is how kove amps rated at 500rms get a 5000 watt sticker on em kenwood=500rms, and from experience they will struggle to do anything more than that. look into like cirunch gp3000d or something like that, 2 of those would get your subs moving. realize what you're getting yourself into if you want to go that big though, hundreds, possibly thousands in wires and batteries and connections and alternators and brackets and whatever else you need just to make it work. I'm nearing like 1500 dollars to get 1500 watts to 200 bux worth of subs(450 dollar alt, 170 dollar batt in the front, 120 in the rear, 250 bux in 0g and 4g, 4 sets of rca's, fuses, fuse holders, ring terminals, remote line...it adds up). If you just want a wall with some big speakers get like 15 inch p1's or something and give them rms, 6 of those will pound, and you could run it off of 2 of those kenwoods and not have to worry about it killing your truck or batteries or anything.
