Bass Heads!
Forevrbumpn replied to Forevrbumpn's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
See, I knew a few people would have thought like me. And the Tahoe, been in there, my ears dont hate me, my lungs and nose hate me for sitting in there, feels good on the ears, and body, but its a funny thing to watch your nose in front of you flap around, it tickles ALOT! But I have asthma, so it feels like sticking your head out the car going down the free way alot of times a second, so I ran out of breath pretty fast in the Hoe- gets you gasping for air, gotta learn how to breath right in 155db+ And Ive driven by many PVC yards, and thought the same way -

lol... No, Iam not sick, I was trying to start a "General" Thread, nothing to in to designs, and boxes, or talking shit about people, plus I just drank like a glass of hot chocolate, with liquer... boy that was some strong HOT chocolate kind of like, Alch Anonn on a fun note thats all lol... sick, just buzzin hard -
Iam one.... Just curious, what is it that makes us bass heads? I Eat, drink, Sleep audio. I draw/design boxes when Iam bored. I have about 150 box designs on my comp, and have photos of most subs that passed thru my hands. Iam never satisfied with music unless its got a heavy bass line, low and strong. I need house walls to flex as bad as I need car windows flexing. At work, while talking to customers, they may ask me a question like, "My UPS shipment came in a damaged box" and I start thinking about speaker boxes, and forget what hes talking about.... AM I sick? or are all of of like that??? BTW, I think of building boxes while haveing sex with my woman too... hmmmm But when it comes to Family guy, Simpsons, Futurama, Mythbusters, How Things are made, I forget about boxes, and beats.... Oh yeah, anyone see that new How things are made, when they went to a speaker factory, and showed a 18" pro audio woofer built??? That was a great one

Yep.... check out monster cables home audio line up (I havent looked at the website in a few months) but they have huge speaker arrays, up to 54 drivers, 7ft tall, and the cabinets are alum, but also usethe same deal, neo mags to hold on the grills, but that was the only company I knew of off the top of my head that used em' but I guess they are getting more popular... Nice choice on the Mids Steve

alot of people like CA, but I built speakers for 4years, and on the production line, its epoxy, and rubber based glues. Ive built a pair of 15" useing black RTV gasket glue, and those speakers are alive today with more power than rated. reason why rubber based/silicone based glue is good on the production line is because it takes vibration better, and last longer (over years )

Ive noticed there are a few people out there that like messin with there own speakers, or building speakers from the ground up. I know I do, its very fun, and can be amusing to see the end results. I have, for sale, a SHT load of cones, and a hand full of domes. 12" REAL carbon fiber-front and back with rubber surrounds- Very light, and super rigid good for about 1.5-1.75" of xmax. 2.5" VC opening, but can be cut for 3" About 225pcs 10" Same cones, but a 2" opening, also can be cut to size 25pcs And then, 25 SPUN aluminum inverted domes, rigid, light, and strong, hard to scratch, and when this dome is glued to the cone, I can stand on it- Iam 6'2-300lbs BTW- talk about a cone that can take abuse!!! These look bad ass together, sound very good together, but they can be interchanged also. Dome can go on almost any cone, Minus the flatter angle cone, slighter angle. But these will fit just about any cone out there from major brands that use kevlar, paper, carbon fiber- ect These are logo free, so - they are as is 12" Cones $10each 10" cones $7 Dome $5 (factory cost is higher by about $2)

lookin nice Meade, lookin nice ;-) He gotta have a huge projection TV.. My issue with building towers was I always built them to deep, to where they stick out further than the TV, in MY house anyways, My tv/entertainment center is only about 20" deep.. So I keep the towers and subs seperate now, so I dont come in to that situation anymore.... How high up are those tweeters? I try to keep tweeters at ears sit down listening level for best imaging about 35" high. High 5 on the Vifa tweets ;-) all I use

I love me the Mclass components from Memphis. Sometimes the best component sets can just be matched together from places like some Madisound kits http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi....28575&pid=1969 http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi...d=7861538.28575 ^^^ I personally have 1 pr of those Vifa 6" coax components, and they are awesome accurate sounding speakers for the money

I would say RCA pinched, or to close to something its not supposed to be, rca pulled on to hard, loose solder connection to rca plug on amp, or deck, rca half hangin off deck rca.. Ive ran in to that many times, but usually both sides together, not 1 side over another

do you sand down the edge of the port?
Forevrbumpn replied to Texas Tech's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
rounding the port with router bits x10 But no, rounding the ports do not make it hit harder at all, Aero port's, and rounded slot ports only help with wind noise reduction, BUT helps with the aerodynamics of the box air flow. Which, always in any case helps -
Man, I love home audio, maybe more than Car audio, but holey shit, 4000+ watts in a house, and 15s tuned at 27hz? I garuntee he will be busting windows left and right. Home windows have Nothing on car windows, they tend to just shatter in place, and fall right out the window sill. Better hope he replaces his windows in his WHOLE house with Plexi anti shatter, shock resistant panels.

lol.... I like welding the doors shut, that was funny, but a lil obvious at night huh?... Best way to do it is, time, then catch em' slipping, so nothing gets to obviously pointed right at you, ya know? Break fluid eats some rubber, so I doubt the ballons will work.... but maybe tossing some 40oz beer bottle filled of acetone, paint stripper, break fluid at the car in a drive by would be pretty simple.... (maybe someone driveing behind you can flick a match as they pass behind you- acetone is more flamable than gas, and burns hotter) -
for some reason, no matter what, I cant see image shack pics, wish I can see the pics... But I like that Hifonics Atlas subs, Ive installed it, and right off the bat, first box Bassbox 6.0 said would sound good, it DID sound good, damn good
