if you dont know that much about car audio, start out small. dont jump into the expensive stuff right away. The BTLs are so touchy that the smallest thing could blow it, start out small and work your way up as you learn. Get yourself some nice MTX's

Duct Tape Nah man, Personally I'd try some 3M double sided adhesive. That stuff works wonders keeping the chrome on my truck. It might work for that

the Q is a SQ based woofer. For SPL, between the Q and the BL, The BL would be better. But from what I hear the Q's can get down, but still not as much as the BL. I'm not sure about your last question about the options, you'd have to ask someone who has experience with both.
