Thats probably it man, scosche RCA's are so tiny and fragile, I had to replace my RCA's 2 or 3 times in my truck cause they kept pulling ends off or rubbing through the coating, but even if thats not it man, its always a good idea to get some good RCA's, but when my RCA's went bad my subs just went crazy started making all kinds of noise and crap.

Finnally someone else with a 4 Runner! and I like James idea 2 dc lvl 2's would sound sweet. Or maybe 1 FiQ 18 and a refurbed sundown 1000D?

Well if u have checked the ground from the ground wire to body/chassis then it could be a bad amp, I cant think of anything else that would make it cut out like that unless its getting really hot really fast, or theres speaker wires touching somewhere, or if everything is cutting out it could be a bad radio, still doesnt explain only one amp going into protect though, so IDK

Does everything cut out, mids/highs, and subs?

I really don't want to spend more than 1200 bucks on an amp, i was just looking at the rockford for comparison, but if it absolutely came down to it, I could drop the extra cash to get a t4k, but only if thats the best and last resort. Also 2 runs of 1/0 u mean 2 runs from the front to the back batteries, or 2 runs to the amp, lol sorry first time experiencing extreme electrical upgrades.

Okay I just did the math and it the 1 4k amp would be about 400 bucks cheaper than for 1k's, but i still don;t wanna spend 2800 bucks on ONE amp, any cheaper amps out there that would do the trick?

Okay so I decided against 18's. Not enough room. So I decided to go with 4 12's, most likely FiBL's or FiQ's. Whats the difference between the 2, I noticed that the majority of the specs. are closely the same. So which one should I choose for a daily pounded, good sounding sub, I also chose these because the rec. airpsace is around the same as the MTX's I have now so I can use the same box that I am building for them for the Fi's. Also since both Fi's are 1,000W RMS, would it be better to go with 4 t1000.1bd's or 1 t4000.1bd, or are there any other more affordable amps out there I could use, keep in mind I AM upgrading my electrical with an HO alt. and all 1/0 and 2 batteries in back.
