  2. Thanks guys I have this posted all over the internet. We've been getting a few tips of sighting even this morning. I figured it be chopped up by yesterday evening. But ppl have been seeing someone driving this car this morning. I painted the car it was actually my second car painted. Thanks for the compliments. Not my taste in cars but it pays the shop rent. I'll let you know what happens.
  3. Hey guys our shop was broken into last night after 2:30 (when we finally left the shop). The thief knew what they were looking for and stole a single car. The shop is located right off buford hwy., right before you get to Mcginnis(sp) Ferry Blvd. in suwanee. The car is a 93 Chevy caprice. Here is a pic. of it: PM me or call me at 404-759-4281. Thanks guys the shop is called Atlanta Body Kit Store. and this car has a shop sticker in both back windows. Thanks for any help
  4. If you do drop the pan make sure you replace the filter if it is an automatic.
  5. Modified cars get better gas mileage as long as they are not in boost or on the gas. Because most mods take away the restrictions that come from the factory. In my eclipse as long as I was not boosting, I got about 35-40 mpgs. Under boost it when down to about 19-20mpg.
  6. Wow.... so the tech saw the No Oil light and said oops I forgot the oil? What about the quarts of oil he put in the tranny did he forget putting that in? If they do take the caddy back don't let them just flush the oil they need to take off the pan and change the filter as well. They also need to flush it about 4 times to completely get everything out. You DO NOT want to mix those fluids.
  7. Word of advise: Any chip that is actually going to affect your cars performance is going to cost $50+ there are no cheap (ebay) alternatives in this department.
  8. I agree with everything except for the back pressure part. A N/A car needs alot more back pressure than a turbo car does. The only time your turbo suffers because of exhaust is if your pipes are too large for the turbo. For example, my eclipse needs a 3" straight exhaust for turbos from the stock T-25 up to 50 trims and larger if I were to get a 4" exhaust I would have spooling problems because there wouldn't be enough exhaust pressure. To the OP tho check you turbo by checking the shaft play if it moves at all that turbo is on its way out. But turbo whine is normal and music to my ears.
  9. Never heard of them but they have an ebay site check the feedback on that.
  10. More detail plz.....what kind of car year make and model. Pic of rear brake lit if you have it.
  11. If you are sanding the actual carbon fiber weave then you have sanded too deep. Once you lay the resin you are just sanding to make the resin layer even.
  12. Actually I think in the neon you can access the fuel pump after taking the back seat out.
  13. Man that looks really good. What turbo combo did you combine? You had it dynoed yet?
  14. It depends on the paint brand that you use you could probably go to napa and pick everything up for about $200-$300 using the Martin Senour brand. You need to get primer, basecoat, and clear. The amount depends on the painter how much experience he/she has and the air/gun set up. Hope that helps any.
  15. Ok first of all dont get an ebay kit unless you want to see your $700-$900's turn in to alot of paper weight in a few weeks. Second do some research on your motor before you slap parts on it. Some NA motors are not built to withstand the pressures from a turbocharger. I suggest you check out some Neon/SRT4 performance forums see what others have successfully done then decide on the goals that you want for the car. Do it right the first time and buy what works longterm. Just saving you some hassles and headaches bro.
  16. It will give it a good rumble but you wont get a muscle car sound.
  17. Just research the paint shop that you want to take it to whether it be Maaco or Earl Schieb. We always hear the horror stories from those shops but i have met some of the best painters that work for them. So just research the local paint shops see the work that they do. No one will be able to tell you which to choose cuz it depends on who works at the shops in your area. As far as the number of coats. If you are using Super black if the prep work is good you only need one maybe 2 coats to completely cover, then you can spend more on the clear you want. Yes, the more clear you have the "wetter" it looks. As far as cost it depends if you get them to do the prep work or not, the brand of paint you choose, the type of paint system used (BC/CC or SS). But it will prob run you about 1,5k to about 2k for paint; more if you have to have alot of body work.
  18. Thats right. The concept is the same for every naturally aspirated engine but the amounts will vary.
  19. Backpressure is necessary for naturally aspirated cars to run efficiently. Running straight pipes will take that away and you will lose alot of low end power. As far as gas mileage you show see a small increase in your mpgs as you are taking way restrictions on the exhaust.
  20. If you do your own body work and buy your own paint it will reduce the cost alot. Average paint jobs are $2,000-$5,000.
  21. Im painting my car satin black but its almost the same thing. Some tips for ya make sure you sand all the old paint down to the factory primer. Go up to 400grit and lay a dark primer. Wet sand to 600grit and lay your base flat coat bout 2-3 coats should be fine. For the clear you are going to need a flattening agent in the clear or you will have a glossy black finish. Sand that down with 1000 up to 1500 wet, buff then polish and your done. I'll get picts of my car when I get my camera back. Its in primer stage now. Link for flatting agent:http://www.tcpglobal.com/hokpaint/hokfa01.aspx This is what I use Im sure there are others out there just google it. Good luck man
  22. that is a tune-up the list you have. See if they will do a diagnositic of your car too.
  23. You can't use a turbo timer to up your idle speed unless you have a turbo the only way to change it is through the ecu or manually through the biss screw. What kind of controller do you have?
