The only draw back with 6010 is that you cant do a continues bead with it like you can do with 7018. But for offroading 6010 will be better for you to go with.

Here is a video of a Jetta head unit removal. Same dash as the Rabbit. They use a bone tool, I just used a plastic spatula and it worked the same.

Welcome to the MKV VW club. As for myself I just got a metra 9003 and just tapped into a fuse in the fuse box. Be careful on removing that headunit. Its not easy and can easily break some of the connectors. There are videos youtube on how to remove the head unit. If you need help or need to know how to do something let me know. I'll try to help you out the best that I can.

In my maxima I had good results with sub firing passenger side port back.

My dad has an 03 ram 1500, and I dont see a way to get a double din in there with out really cutting up the dash cover to make it fit. He can do single din pop out with an eq below it if he wants. But other than that, I dont think there is a way to get a double din in there.

Yea I talked to him yesterday. He said the only way that it feels comfortable for him to shoot it is with an extended mag with a finger support. We are about the same size and that is what he said.
