  1. I have a couple of question for you. What is ur budget? Why 12's(not that the btls are bad subs)? I ask 'cause if you are going to cut a hole into your truck, why not use the biggest subs you can fit? I have a design for a 6th order box that i want to do to my reg. cab f150, should yeild impressive results, for 2 15's (but can be tweaked for 18's).
  2. Sorry i havent responded sooner. Well i cant do to much to the engine. The reason why is that it is fuel injected, but it has speed density, not mass air like most vehicles now and days. And i also have upgraded wires, coil, cap and rotor, and spark plugs. So spark is not an issue. I can add a cold air intake and a lot more other things to the engine to get it to run better, but i would have to convert it to mass air. They cost around 800 for a Ford Racing mass air conversion kit. So i really dont want to spend that kind of money. Also my driving habits have been the same. The next thing i am going to replace is my O2 sensor. we shall see how it goes.
  3. Sorry to hear the news man. Pretty much once the air bags deploy, they are gonna total it out. But damn, 650 dollars to have it towed and stored over night? To me, that is bull shit. I would have to take some legal action on that part. It shouldn't be more that 2 bills for a tow and a nite. They are just trying to kick you while you are down. maybe you are thinking of me?? Cause we both have blue in are SN?
  4. Just take your time and make sure the cuts are straight. Make sure you have a drill and drill bit handy for when you have to replace the floor pan on top of a brace. Its going to be a PIA, but it will get the job done. I would suggest doing one side at a time and only replace where the steel is bad. You could just replace the whole thing, but i would find the area with the rust damage and cut an inch into good steel and cut out that section on the new floor pans(with and inch lip). Good luck on doing it to. Make sure you have the welder set up right so you don't burn through the metal and not get a solid weld.
  5. That blows, but hopefully you do get the other job soon. Just think you start on monday at the new place, and use the vaca money for something else?
  6. Just wanting to get a list some what started. I'll be going to watch. Who else is going to go and watch and/or participate?
  7. I think wat he meant is there is a highway that goes from Bakersfield to las vegas, and he might catch the 395 south. Do you live in parker???
  8. Well then, the clock is ticking. Have fun wiring up that many subs. hopefully i'll be able to hear the beast tomo. good luck :hairtrick: :hairtrick:
  9. Ill get it to joo tomo King. Didnt get home from school today till after they were closed.
  10. Hey Ray, just letting you know, Bill and Melissa are probably going to stop by my work and grab some pizza. You and anyone else heading south can stop by if you want. Just ask Bill, he will have the address.
  11. Thanks, that is wat i was thinking. I dont do any towing or carry much weight in the bed. If i had to do any towing I'm just going to use my dads Ram, or i could use my moms expedition(my family really doesnt care about fuel milage, except me).
  12. That would be a fun ride, too bad I'm only a 30 min drive away, suck a long drive you know. I wish I could get a day off from work, but they wont allow me.
  13. I have a quick question and hopefully someone here can help me out. My F150 is my daily driver, and if i average 60 mph i get around 18 mpg. That is not bad for a truck, but i know there is better mileage in it. I was able to get 23 mpg when i used to do 55 mph. I have 3.55 gears, and when i'm doing 55 my rpms are right at 1500. I was thinking that if I was to go to a pick-a-part and found a truck with a 8.8 diff, and it had 3.08, or even 3.00 gears, wat effect would that have on my performance? Keep in mind i drive 50 miles one way to school twice a week. Speed no less than 60 mph all the way there. I hardly drive on the streets, maybe a total of 20 miles a week. With the increase in gas prices coming up here in California (april first sales taxe in my region will be 9.0%+, dont move to California). I'm just trying to find a way to squeeze every last drop of gas i can. Thanks, Scott
  14. Actually its not the increase in displacement that we are worried about, but the depth of the sub itself. The people with very limited space can't afford to have a sub that is 5-8 inches deep. But we do have room for one that is less than 4 inches deep. This would be me when I went to Vegas for my 21st. If I had the money at the time I would have done atleast 2 many even 4. But the one is doing fine for me right now. 15. Dont worry your not the only one. I have been a fan of it since the begging. I have it recording right now cause i just got out of class. So dont say anything
  16. not sure what kind of car you have, but if you(or anyone reading this) have a 5.4L ford, i would highly advise you not power wash the engine bay. The reason being the coil packs have been known to leak water past their seals and short out on the heads. If you want to clean the engine bay with the 5.4 in it, just be extremely careful in doing it.
  17. Steak sounds good, but I'm going to go with a 3x3 animal style, animal fries, and a large chocolate shake. I'm going to need the bread for the special liquid tonight. :drunk:
  18. I wouldn't mind trying to fix it if he doesnt want it.
  19. Is the basket cast or stamped? What material also (steel, aluminum, iron)? never seen one so i dont know. He might be able to get away with a recone, and with the cone off take it to a welding facility and have them weld it up. Shouldn't take more than 30 mins to do. Just make sure he tapes the coil hole up so no debris gets inside the gap
  20. Hey man my condolences are with you and your friends. I know what it feels like to loose a friend in a car crash. I have lost 2 close friends due to car crashes in the past few years, and lost another one that used to sit next to me in high school in our science class. The only things i can tell you is that keep your head up, remember the old good times and the bad. Never forget who he was as a person, and as a friend.
  21. I have to agree the pioneer shallow mounts are pretty good. I have the 12" in my regular cab f150. I'm thinking about upgrading to 2 10" Re Se. Here is a video of it in my truck just to give you a clue what these can do name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350">
  22. Dude, that shit was awsome man. Luckily i happened to look over my shoulder at the right time. That was a close one. Hey sorry i didnt give you call tonight, my phone died and i had no clue where my charger was. Cleaned the truck and found it. Hopefully tomorrow night. Later. P.s And my buddy thought my truck was loud. :hairtrick: he didnt know what hit him. lol
  23. Wow, logan saying something nice about a dodge???? J/k, sounds great though good job. I'm going to do that. This is the second time i heard of that method. One of my old baseball coaches told me about that, i forgot about that till you said that.
  24. So the air is coming out of the bottom vents, just not the top vents. The panel on top of the dash on the driver side should just pop straight out. Can you take a pic of the heating tube so i can have an idea wat it looks like. I'll try to help you out as much as i can. My mom has an 98 expy, same body as yours, and i just recently had to take the dash apart to replace her heater core(not a fun job), and i think i know what tube you are talking about.
