  1. so have someone hold it until all 4 sides are in tight...? I normally just did the top and bottom then let go and did the rest. EDIT- Then how are some screws still in the box? its almost like its too small.
  2. sorry to threadjack but NEO did you leave or are u still @ home?
  3. i dont know how much bigger i can fit through this sub... i kinda like the T-nut idea tho
  4. can i get these at home depot?
  5. I dont know if this has been discussed, but i just found out that one of my subs was halfway out of the box *2 18" hdc3's walled* Wondering how the hell this happened i noticed that 3 of the bottom screws are still in the box and the screw seems to have gone right through the entire hole of the basket. i use the gold plate screws... just a tad thicker than drywall screws... how big of a screw can i go? or what does everyone else run... i feel like a noob right now.
  6. im getting so many different answers here... uhh. First off, i have never seen a wall with aero ports.. i have seen a couple set ups with square vents but i was told as long as im in the 9x1 ratio i would be fine. also, i can see ray running 160 square inches in a 15 cube box if you are running a ton of power and hitting 157 or whatever at a higher frequency. The unfortunate part is that i already cut. But before i glue the baffle i COULD change it... but most ppl seem to think it is fine.
  7. thanks alot guys my port is 5.25 tall by 40.5 walled in a crew cab around 33hz.. hopefully ill get some nasty lows. the port just looks stupid big... just making sure its all good.
  8. im running 2 hdc3's 1500wrms a piece
  9. Do you think 211 square inches of port area is to much for a 13.5 cube box for 2 18's? This is after displacement. and i know to stay within 16 per cube... but why does meade run his so small? whats the advantages/disadvantages?
  10. so ur saying i can ground my amps to the Neg. on the battery, then ground the batteries? im only grounding 3 small amps then my sub amp. I just have limited room and im using a bolt through the bottom of my truck, i think its a JL audio ground, it was expensive, i just dont want to use a seat bolt or anything ghetto
  11. im running 2 AQhdc3's With my highs amps, prolly about 3800wrms max... i have a 200A HO alt and big 3 I just didnt want to have a bunch of grounds seeing as i have 4 amps already grounded, im running out of room on the ground bolt. im tryn to have a common ground in the back.. i heard its the way to go?
  12. I know this picture is drawn up in 5 min. but is this safe to do.... i didnt add fuses in between them all but, they will be there The top battery is under the hood *yellow top* The 2 batteries in the back are the Kinetics Just wondering if it will be safe/good idea, or should i ground both batteries in the back. Thanks
  13. This might sound dumb... But once you build in a truck... how do you get the box out... just start cutting away?
  14. Ok i need some damn ideas... i want to start on the rebuild this weekend. Right now i have 2 separate boxes bolted together at 38 hz 5.5 cubes after displ. i plan on going down to 35-32 ish hz and goin a bit bigger on the box... shared chambers It will be my first build inside the truck but here are my 3 designs, let me know which one you think would yield the best output -Daily Driver Listen to Rap 2 18" hdc3's 3kwrms per pair my current set up going in this Im leaning towards the last design on the right with the port on top... but i think if i did port on the drivers side id get louder, and it would be easier to build..... i just dont want a giant port behind my entire seat.... but whatever works i guess
  15. Your buddy tries to fart in your truck and shits his pants after eating hot wings, Fuck That!
  16. ur fine man, happens to everyone. In the winter i would see it around 114.7-15.8 (which i have a pic of) Now im lucky to get 14.0 Too bad they dont make an MLA module for my truck
  17. i understand the whole copyright stuff... but what if for instance i sent someone my clipped version of a song and they unclipped it then sent it back... would that still be illegal because im sending a song to whoever for free, or would it be fine because he agreed to fix it and not take it without paying.
  18. ill prolly get flamed for this, but i swapped my BL's to HDC3's and notice a difference, especially with lower notes. same power/box
  19. First off good choice going with AQ.. i liked them alot more than the BL's i had *both good woofers* anyway, ur supposed to tune them around 38 hz, IIRC dj the owner said the magnet and throw is large enough to still play really low tuned higher, its where i have my 18's at and i love it.
  20. Auto-Tune is a proprietary audio processor created by Antares Audio Technologies that uses a phase vocoder to correct pitch in vocal and instrumental performances. It is used to disguise inaccuracies and mistakes, and has allowed many artists to produce more precisely tuned recordings. In addition to being used to subtly change pitch, with some settings it can be used as an effect to deliberately distort the human voice.[1] Auto-Tune is available as a plug-in for professional audio multi-tracking suites used in a studio setting, and as a stand-alone, rack-mounted unit for live performance processing.[2] Auto-Tune has become standard equipment in professional recording studios.[3] Auto-Tune was initially created by Andy Hildebrand. Hildebrand realized the work that he did on seismic data exploration was applicable to detecting pitch -Wikipedia-
  21. id really love to know how he did it, does he have a build log or something?
  22. if ur using 1 amp for both subs put them in a single chamber, but brace it with some rods or 2x4s
