The L7 really is not a good SQ driver. ramk1018 might be right about these, might sound better sealed.
-
Anyone else feel that the L7 subs are kind of a pain to design a good SQ box for? 13 x 33 x 21 with a port of 11.5 x 3 x 25(length) should get you around 3 ft^3 tuned to 32hz or so. Going to have to make the port in an "L" shape to get the length.
-
Something like 12 x 29 x 25 with a port of 10.5 x 3.5 x 25 would give you 2.9 ft^3 at around 34hz.
-
Which and how many subs? How much power you going to toss at it/them?
-
for 16 ft^3 you are going to want at least 190 in^2 of port area. That would be like a 19" x 10" port then with enogh length to get your tuning.
-
Could you post up the dimensions of the area you want the box? 40hz is a pretty high tuning. You really want to stay close to 30hz. Also, which subs and what amp/s

Hypertech
cunokyle replied to Basshead08's topic in Engine and Performance - Anything for that couple extra horses!
Hypertech programmers are great. They are easy to use and allow you to adjust quite a few diffent options such as shift point, timing, adjust for tire size and other features! -
Ported, tuned to 35hz or lower for daily listening. You could tune a bit higher if you listen to rock/metal more than rap and still be good though.
-
Do you have any measurements for the space you want to put the box?
-
What are you trying to do, just learn, or is there a specific box you are looking to build at the moment?
-
You don't let the program tell you what to do, you tell the program what you want it to do.
-
Wall.
-
I would go with a bit larger box. Maybe 2.5ft^3 to 3 ft^3 tuned to 30hz.
-
Do you have the port width by any chance?
-
There are a few different programs to use. A good beginner program is WinISD...there is a bit to learn about using it though. I do not even look at the manufacturers recommended enclosures.
-
Ported you can tune to a desired tuning. Tuning between 30-35hz is usually a good point to aim for. The lower the tuning, the better the really low notes will be, but tuning a bit higher generally yields a few more dbs.

Brand new Intrax Lowering Springs for 1993-97 Camaro (including Convertible, Z28, and SS). These Performance springs will drop your Camaro 2" in the front and 1.8" in the rear! This is a complete set of brand new springs! " What makes INTRAX springs better? INTRAX designs most of its lowering kits with progressive rates, to satisfy the two features you've asked for most. First, the lowered look. Most other brands' springs are linear rate, as this is cost-effective but doesn't necessarily provide the visual effect you desire. By designing a progressive spring, we achieve the lowered look while maintaining safety standards of spring preload at suspension droop. The second requirement is ride quality. Since most of you identified that you drove 90% of your mileage to and from work, you wanted to retain some ride quality enjoyed with OE springs. If you're driving to work on a racetrack, "Sport" or "Race" springs from other brands may be for you. INTRAX progressive springs provide high performance looks and comfortable ride quality." $250 shipped to continental US. ebay feedback
