  1. It seems as though we are having some issues with out email system. our site is supposed to generate an UPS tracking number and email for you, but many people are reporting that they are not gettin gthem. Call me up and I will get you the tracking number myself. In most cases orders placed before noon ship the same day. ANT
  2. Thanks for the review man! glad you are impressed with the results and the customer service. let me know if there is anything else I can do for you! ANT
  3. Everything I am going to type out right now is my honest perspective as the owner of a 12 volt related company. I know you have not asked me for a sponsorship but I will address this conversation towards you as if you had. Please take no offence at my blunt tone. You have to remember, that sponsorship is a business agreement. As the owner of a company, that is spending money on YOU, or at least takign a hit on some product, I have to know what I am getting out of the deal. Remeber, If I have an advertising budget. If I sponsor you, I might lose out on $750 worth of material. The number 1 thing I have to consider when spending ad money is this: Where is the best place for me to invest $750? Where will I get the most return on inventory (ROI) for my advertising dollar. So, I could put up a magazine ad. I could throw up some banner ads on a few websites or, I could sponsor someone and hope it comes back to me. So, now comes the point of ROI - We already have some magazine ads If I am happy with the Banner ads I have out there then I have to be feeling like a nice guy and decide to sponsor someon. But who? I get between 1-3 requests every day for people looking for a free ride, promising to put a sticker on their car in exchange for free product. Sure, it would be cool if I were the nice guy and sponsored veryone that asked, but really, at some point, I need to get something out of the deal too. Decals at SPL shows are not enough for any type of consideration. Hell, kids put stickers on their cars for stuff they don't even have IN their cars. I have never received a phone call from anyone saying that they wanted to buy my product because they saw a decal on some guys car at a show. So out of all the guys that ask me for a sponsorship I have to figure out who deserves it. Yup.. You have to seserve it. Just becuase you are a kid with a lot of high end gear does not qualify you in my book. You have to be willing to promote my company to the extent that proves you are a worth sponsee. That they money I invest in to your system some how comes back to me. So if I have 3 people that are looking for a sponsorship, One is 17 and is trying to save money to go to college and promises that he will tell all his friends aobut Second Skin Another is a 22 year old guy that has 2 years of SPL experience and hits 3 car shows per year The last is a member of 20 car audio forums that has a youtube account that gets tons of hits. Drives a car that hits 40 car shows per year and has a 7 year history of taking home trophies with 10 existing sponsorships with companies that I know the owners of. Who do you think is going to get the free ride? Again, you have to deserve it. Not everyone has to have a 10 year history in the lanes, but the difference between one guy withat is going to put stickers on his car, and another that will write up 20 build logs on 20 forums and make 5 before and after videos is quite large. At the end of the day, I have to see a value in the money I spend on you, and it is up to you to prove to me that you are valuable to my company. So, when you go send out your emails. Be prepared. Have a resume ready that outlines everything I will want to hear A histroy of your 12v competition or industry experience Include other comapnies that are sponsoring you Include pics of your car Give a time line for when you will have the car done, and pics presented to the company as proof Know what products of MINE you want. Don't tell me that Dynamat turned you down so now you are looking for my DynOmat - I don't sell Dynamat and you should know that! And lastly, do your best to tell me how you are going to make me look good and bring me customers that no one else is able to bring me. That is how you get sponsored.. ANT
  4. Glad you like th results. How thick did you apply it to the doors? Looks like 2 coats.. 3 or 4 is really idea but you should still get a nice improvement. Keep in mind though, Spectrum takes 30 days to fully cure. It will be mostlky dry after 3 days, but full sound deadening benifits will increase over the corse of 30 days. ANT
  5. Site is owned by fatmat. Same company, same products, different website.. They have a few others out there as well. Alsowas selling on eBay under different names also..
  6. Looks great Steve. I just spoke with Buzz. He is good with doing a SMD video with the Spectrum coating I am sending him next week. Should be good stuff! ANT
  7. As usual, Second Skin is doing its best to bring new and exciting products to the market. This one is certainly no exception. Over the years we have a had a lot of street rod and race car customer come to us looking for a product that could withstand the high temperatures on the engine side of the firewall. Some cars reach levels of 1000 degrees f. and for this application, we had no product to offer them. Now we are about 8 weeks out from releasing our newest thermal insulation mat. This new material is a multi layer composite that can withstand temperatures in excess of 1000 degrees when as little as 2 inches of air space is provided between the heat source and the product. At ¼ inch thick and weighing in at .25 lbs per sq foot this is going to be our best thermal insulation material yet. The foil is about 12 mils thick with a dimpled texture to increase surface area. The Organic fibers are capable of withstanding temperatures over 1000 degrees, and the pressure sensitive adhesive is an acrylic hybrid that will grip on to any painted or primed metal surface, as well as plastic. When subjected to a heat source of 1200 degrees the opposite side of the panel will get reduced to around 350 f. When subjected to a heat source in the 300 degree range, the opposite side of the panel will get reduced to around 85 f. or so. Not only can it be used on the engine side of the firewall, but it can also be used under the car, above the exhaust or transmission to block external heat as well. Now, all we have to do is come up with a name for it. That is where you come in. We are offering a $250 gift code to the first person that suggests the name that we decided to use. We are posting this offer on several different forums and will be selecting a winner in the next month or so. We have about 8 weeks before the product is ready to ship so we can take our time and wait for the right name to show up. Thanks for your help! ANT www.secondskinaudio.com
  8. Looks good man Gotta ask though. Did you do any sound deadening inside of the doors? Looks like you only covered the one panel but never went behind the speaker or IN the door cavity itself. ANT
  9. Looks like the code expired by the time you tried to place the order. Send me an email with your code and I will reissue it for you. ANT
  10. I think it is great. I compliment to Billy Mays, but a few people on other forums are giving me shit. Pretty much saying that Second Skin has no respect for the dead and has crossed the line. Not the case at all. Dead or alive, Billy Mays is an awesome salesman. I would watch his commercials just because of him. I think what Buzz Thompson did was pretty accuract and very fun. Considering the content (nothing inflamatory or negative towards BM, and the fact that he filmed it 2 months ago, I hardly see how it is disrespectful. ANT
  11. We are still formulating it Making oimprovements to the old formula. Should be ready in 2 weeks or so. ANT
  12. Before you pass judgement, please know that we made this video 2 months ago, and just now got it edited down and produced.
  13. NO idea.. I just found out that the biggest sheet we can do is 24" x 36" Not exactly what I wanted to hear..
  14. Wow. This product is awesome.. Took us 2 years of sourcing to get it right. Basically it is 12/1000" thick foil Organic fiber webbing high temp adhesive total it is about 1/4 inch thick When applied on the engine side of the firewall or above the exhaust on the underside of the car, all it needs is about 2 inches or air space and it will turn 1200 degrees in to 350 degrees It will turn 300 degrees in to 85 degrees. This stuff aint no joke! Expect to see it in 8-12 weeks. ANT
  15. We decided to redesign them and have them made by a USA company rather than overseas. That was the only custom product we had made in china. aside from the little tools we sell, everything is now made in the USA. Still working on the new speaker pads through. ANT
  16. Rather than giving members a discount, we are giving away about $1500 worth of product. We are also sponsoring the System of the Month with a $280 give away there. Unfortunately offing a discount and doing the promotions is too expensive for us right now.. ANT
