  1. Here is a certified beast that won't be beat for these dollars... http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=14028 also, look at the Audiopipe EyeCandy subs. They are conservatively rated for 1kw RMS and are very efficient.
  2. Thanks for the link on those Diamonds!
  3. Any color you choose would look nice on the black, but you need a matching pinstripe or something on the car to make it look custom. It can be something subtle too, which is usually best. The red stands in really nice contrast with the black, by the way. How do you like your Audi?
  4. What these guys have been trying to tell you and the answer to your question is NO do not buy a Vibe amp unless you absolutely cannot help it. And I mean really here. Your shoes had better be on their 8th year, with 8 kids and 8 mortgages to pay... all that. The Vibe amps don't make half of the power they are supposed to make; and they are not that reliable, to boot. You can save money on an amp to push the subs you want, if you shop around; but you don't want to spend your hard-earned cash on garbage. The funny thing is that, although the Lanzar Vibe series are terrible, that company's Optidrive line is actually very good. If you have to go cheap, then look at those. I have not heard one person who actually owned an Optidrive product who had anything but glowing praise for them.
  5. I think that the APs will sound as loud as the 6000D, but you would be more pleased owning with the OPTI.
  6. That's sad about the stereo magazines, but the Forum is waaaay more engaging and informative than any paper magazine.
  7. I don't know if they have stopped publishing yet or not. That (along with "Auto Sound & Security" and "Car Stereo Review") used to be my favorite magazine back in the day when they would actually discuss the systems and products. The last one I saw though was pretty much trash. It had so many subscription cards and ads that it was hard to read. If you think about it, that's not really surprising. With the Internet, who buys real magazines anymore?
  8. If your subs were out of phase from the beginning, you would have been VERY unhappy with your system so far. What kind of amp are you using?
  9. You're looking for used amps? We can get you a new one in about 3 days if you like warranty.
  10. Don't waste your money on any prefab enclosures! That's two sheets of MDF right there. Post more info on what you have and somebody will help you.
  11. In the absence of rattling or distortion it is hard for human ears to locate the source of sounds below 80hz. If your front-stage speakers are set up properly, then a 80hz lpf can sound as if the bass is coming from the front like the rest of the sound (think 'concert'). In actual practice, you can set the filter a little higher if you like (say 100hz), but you don't want to go much above that. Also, don't go below 80 too much because the LPF will begin eating into your good bass. Even though your subs can play a 500hz signal, they are optimized for much lower frequencies.
  12. If you build a decent box, then you will be set up for big bass. For some reason, the Pathfinder-body trucks are pretty tightly built (which is great for bass!). It may not flex much, but it will be loud.
  13. No, you wouldn't. The sub can displace air pretty much wherever you put it because it has a motor, but that port needs to BREATHE. If you obstruct the flow of air into or out of the port, then your effective port tuning will change to something you can't figure with a calculator. All things equal, port on bottom should give you a little extra in the form of cabin gain (that's where the truck pushes the bass back) over a port on the top.
  14. Just try to plan everything in advance. Don't try and cram 4 18s in there, because you don't have the space. That looks good for 2 15s though. Depending on the subs, that's a lotta output.
  15. Who would think of cramming a small block into that small car? The guy even pulled over (DURING the burnout) to let that truck pass. Wow.
  16. Does this mean that your solar units generated 5kwh (2kwh usage + 3kwh exported) during the relevant time period?
  17. What did you say about my mama?!! Just kidding. lol But seriously, it sucks not to be able to say f*ck when you want to, but it would suck even more if you couldn't see Steve Meade's new 10 18 Excursion build because there was no Youtube. There has to be some type of rules in place to make sure that people's kids aren't exposed to any and every negative influence in the world. People get silly when they are able to hide their faces behind a computer. By the way, there is no Steve Meade 10 18 Excursion build that I know of, but it would suck if you couldn't watch it, wouldn't it?
  18. Don't get these, get the new Q-Powers: they are called BLACKMAMBA15s. Cheap but not cheap.
  19. How much power are you running on this sub? THAT'S what determines how big your port needs to be. The more power you use, the more air the vent should be designed to accomodate. :hairtrick:
  20. You can get some 750 watt RMS Q-Power BLACKMAMBA 15s for about $50 each, if you're resourceful.
  21. That amp is good for .6, right? How bout a 3,000 watt RMS OPTI 1233D for around $350 shipped? Here's a link: http://www.lanzar.com/itempage.asp?MODEL=OPTI1233D
