  1. any of the subs you mentioned are good... just remember, its all about the install and box design... 20% equipment eighty% design/install... the best sub in the world wont do you any good in a poorly designed box... search around here... you will learn alot... welcome to the forum... edit: stupid numerical eighty smileyface thingy...80
  2. hmmm... buy used? im assuming that doesnt include shipping... i would personally go for these http://www.audiosavings.com/products/12-Inch-Car-Subwoofer/NEW-RE-AUDIO-SRX12D4-SR-12-600w-CAR-SUBWOOFER-SRX12-D4/SRX12D4.aspx or try some lower end kicker or apline subs... or even hifonics they got some dirt cheap subs... edit: subs are only as loud as the box that its in... build a well designed box and cheap subs will get loud.
  3. tried to send you PM... but it says "unable to receive new messages"
  4. Box is everything... no matter how beautiful the build is, a good woofer in a poorly designed box will not perform well... and ROFLMAO at that amp... no matter if you max out the settings in that amp... your not going to see anything past 2000w RMS clean... Good woofer + Bad box + Crap amp = FAIL Okay woofer + Well designed box + okay amp that does rated RMS cleanly = Louder then his setup
  5. Get your pics uploaded to photobucket... if you dont have an account... create one... upload them to your account... once it finishs uploading. copy and paste the "IMG" code into your post...
  6. well... it depends on the truck... pics would help... sub down in a sealed box may be your best bet....if im not mistaken, some one here did an 8in kicker sub down sealed in .6 cubes in a center Counsel of a car (not sure if its a Toyota Camery/avalon or Honda Accord... some 4 door sedan) and got 140+ db on term lab... if i were you id try to do a T-line box. thats if it will fit...
  7. good for a budget build... i say go for it... with that much power im sure u can run it stock... lol...
  8. well...if a box leaks... it loses pressure, becoming less efficient... a lil wood glue, then some fiberglass pretty much seals it for good...
  9. more pics please... lol... nice start... how many layers did you lay down for the mold? and what are you planing to run there?
  10. if your careful about it... 3500w on stock alt is fine...you just got to be smart about it... jus set your gains lower untill you get your electrical up...
  11. 3.5 cubes total? or before displacement?
  12. i was gona say blowthrough FTW.... but i got to change it to NOS FTMFW!!! for a sec there i thought it was real... lol! nice setup.... and nice truck... i which i had the balls to cut up my truck...
  13. 300 is a tight budget... look at my sig for more details lol... as far as suggesting brands... i agree with pioneer for HU ive had experience with kenwood amps and i was pretty happy with them... they are NOT 1 ohm stable but for entry level.. not bad... i had the Kenwood KAC-9103D (claims 1800w...Probly had around 800W RMS...) and i was running sony for my first setup(yes i know....) everyones got to start somewhere... Check the For-Sale section here on SMD? Lota deals there... if you end up like the rest of us... the bass bug will bite... and bite hard... and your gona want more... and more... lol
  14. I wow'd at the Port in the A/C vent... nice work... i recently registered to fiberglassforums... btw... i love your truck... Those Toyota pickups/Hilux will last forever..
  15. and i thought it was a commercial for a full length movie... sadly its only a short clip...
  16. If you guys havnt seen this yet... awesome clip for oldschool gamers...
  17. my truck is kinda like that... pearl blue... its subtle and eye catching at the same time... lol... leme try and get better pictures...
  18. the same woofer in a properly built box... but with all seriousness, the secret is in the math behind the box design... "loudness" is 10% equipment and 90% box design/quality of the build..
  19. not trying to dis you or anything but.... ROFLMAO... thanks for that... i needed a good laugh... i think you need to work on your calculations a bit... but i give you props for trying to build a 4th order as a first box...
  20. its all about the box design. heck, a pair of lvl 3s in a proper box will out preform the w6s...
  21. im guessing you dnt need the trunk space? if you can fit 15 to 18 cubes and have about 19" x 38" space behind your seats... id do a pair of 18s... if you dont have room for 2 18's... id do a bunch of 10s, 6 to 8 10s but your gona need a better amp tho...
  22. Nice work... i find carpet a little easier to work with, your box doesnt have to be completely smooth for it to look good... i remember when i built my 1st T-line with a pair of old ass pionner 10's... they hit reall low... im sure your happy with your T-line
  23. i would say that your choice is dependent on the amount of driving you do... i love big trucks too.. but gas milage sucks... and gas prices are always going to get worse... better gas mileage, newer car, less total mileage and show car potential... i say go with the honda... but the real question is.. will your dad really trade it? lol...
