  1. another famous rust out place on those is the rear frame rail behind the drivers side tire. i know, odd ass place since most are one wheel peel and its the right rear that spins, but check it out, i've had 3 of them and still currently own an 86 Gutlass and they are notorious for the frames rotting away back there. best thing to do would to pay a shop to get it up on a rack and go over it. have the service manager escort you out to the shop and get a good look around under it. the tech can check the mechanicals, but its best if you see the condition of the frame and the floor pan seems yourself. good luck man, looks like a decent gutlass for the cash if all is solid about it. oh yeah, look for bolt holes in pairs around the transmission tunnel on each side of the driveshaft. being it has hood pins, if there are bolt holes in a few spots right behind the transmission tailshaft, its an indication it had a driveshaft saftey loop in it and that it has been some ones street rod in the past.
  2. which motor is in this thing anyway. being i am in the auto repair field, i can look and see if there are any tsb's on that particular car on smoking issues but i will need the engine size to nail it down more specifically to your model.
  3. Seems like a small based community that encourages inbreeding must be based out of Arkansas lol
  4. not sure how old ya are Bryan, but there will always be assholes like that in the world, it makes them feel better about themselves to belittle others, just brush em off, be content with who, and what you are and just let the small shit run off you like water off a turtle shell man....
  5. news flash, i am of German decent, and my wife is Jewish, figure that one out lol she always jokes about me throwing her in the oven when she is cooking dinner...
  6. anything all wheel drive and having to buy 4 tires at once so ya dont toast the transfer case due to different tire circumfrence FUCK THAT
  7. i totally agree with that being i shave my head too. The stereotype that comes with being bald is dumb. i'll trade them fuckers that wanna talk shit on my shinny head jobs and let them roll over thier hair with a creeper some time and just maybe they might understand...
  8. the amps in question are not near as power hungry as you would think. Rockford has done some extensive work on the power induction circuitry in these monsters in the way of power capacitors that aid in the avaliability of juice per thier power needs.. And hey there Chicken i see ya sneaking around there checkin out your other baby. congrats on yet another sick ass SMD Caddy in the works
  9. I run into this question all the time with customers on thier vehicles, only correct answer to give them is none at all, but to throw some things at them to make them think. what is the vehicle used for? what would you get to replace it if you were to go that route? will the replacement of the vehicle drive your vehicle insurance and license and registration fees through the roof and lets not for get sales tax and personal property taxes. little things like this are what they all seem to forget when they say, " screw that, the car isnt worth it to put that much money into" they usually havent stopped and thought about the other side of the coin. not to mention in your case you will have more time invested due to having to rip out the audio and put it into another vehicle. in the end, you have to make the decission for yourself, but you need to stop and think about what is that car worth to YOU, not just is it worth putting that kinda money into. other things to think about, you probably know some people that work on cars for a living, find one of them that you know is dependable and has free time on the weekends and wants to make a little extra cash. most techs will work for 20-30 bucks per flat rate hour compared to 80 -120 a flat rate hour that a shop charges and they usually wont nail you as hard on mark up on parts as a shop will either, hell if ya know the guy well enough they might even give ya the parts at the same cost they can get em for. hope this helps Chris Automotive Technician/Service Manager
  10. Stupid kid causes damage in your apartment building that is associated with your own step sons and now they wont renew your lease and now we have 4 and a half weeks to find a new place to move the family too FUCK THAT!!! Build On Hold Now DOUBLE FUCK THAT!!!!!
  11. ok, we need to step back here and think about principles here for a sec, springs support weight, shocks/struts do nothing but dampen the bouncing motion after a bump has been hit while driving or help a vehicle keep from swaying and return back to a level ride after going around a corner and dampen/stop the inertia of the bounce. with this being true, it appears that you need springs, not struts or a load enhancing piece such as bags or even air shocks in this case if the rears shocks/struts are not of a mcpherson design.
  12. i'd say if the guys that come out of that school are good enough for Chip Foose to let them get in on the Overhaulin builds, then that school has to be doing shit right, have at it man and have a blast....
  13. i actually have a friend who is a machinist who is going to be making me some terminals. can basically make about any design you would want. i currently have 2 designs in his hands that will be being machined soon. first design is dual 1/0, dual 4ga and dual 8 second is 3 1/0 1 4ga and one 8ga might be something you might be interested in as well as some of the others. as of right now they are top post designs only in positive and negative
  14. steve you are the king of glass, ( well you and Tim) why dont you just yank the headliner down and glass that damn control pod holder to the back side of it? lol ok, pain in the ass, but its worth a shot P.S. we use this stuff here at work called plastic surgery on anything plastic wise in a car that cracks slightly(or breaks) that cant be seen, it works great, a hell of alot better than any other superglue we have ever found
  15. i'll speak for a few people here for a second, learning shit off a site and being able to actually apply it usefully and accuratly are 2 totally different things. you seem like the type to me that if you were told to jump off a bridge by someone that is held in high regaurd that you would jump right at it b4 letting common sense step in and make you think twice......
  16. get us some dimensions on the avaliable space with the third row in and i am sure that will be really helpful. also be sure to account for any space needed for batteries and amp racks as well depending on how you want to set it up.
  17. as are most of us, this borderlines on insanity, wait, this is Steve were talking about here, no borderline to it lol j/p bro
  18. was just a thought, i figured those amps were loaded with fans, those things are so over engineered that its pitiful, but kicks ass at the same time. being i am kinda new around here, i just wanted to give credit where credit is due BTW. i have been in this game for a while myself but have been laying real low due to family and kids and stuff the last 10 years. you are an inspiration Steve to all of us. keep up the good work. off topic: be looking for some money via paypal from me in the future for your mother inlaw. have lost my grandmother to cancer and my uncle is in his 4th battle with cancer as we speak. i can relate with what you and the family are going through and i commend you for doing what you have done to help raise money to help her get through these hard time ... Chris
  19. being that you now have another monster amp to deal with and i am sure a steel amp rack wil be coming into play here, heat is gonna be a bit of an issue back there. you had mentioned b4 that the rear a/c unit may not be used at all now but what about ducting it to the amp rack as a cooler to keep this stuff nice and chilly and making excelent power (not as if it wont make killer power as it is, the t15k is a beast).
  20. New option added to SSD and Q Series - 04/15/07 We just added the "BP Power" option to both the SSD and Q series subwoofers. This new option adds a machined aluminum compression plug to the pole which helps channel all of the air under the dustcap around the coil for better cooling. To aid with this increased airflow we also add 6 axial cooling channels in the top plate. Along with increased thermal capacity comes the addition of an extra spider and a changed spider pack. All of these new features increase power handling from 200-500 Watts depending on the application.
