  1. search around the net you can find some good tutorials. basicaly you have to make a mold out of wood. then push the pvc onto the mold while heating the pvc so that it forms the flare.
  2. hey, emergency vehicles are using subsonic tones to get people out of the way. your just doing more research for the safety of the community.
  3. i swear i saw something just like this on tv when i was a kid. i dont know if it was a real product or if it was a joke but i know i saw it.
  4. the sundowns dont use a bass boost knob. its a gain knob. no offence but all your posts here dont address the problem at all. i dont understand how this could be. how did the test go? i could only believe this number is you had an o-scope, set your gains with no gain knob then turned the gain on the amp all the way up and retune with the knob and o-scope. is that what he did? im really interested in knowing more about this and figuring it out.
  5. i think that is the plan at this point. start small and stick a thermometer in the rack. get some b4 and after temp. numbers. i do have more room under the amp now. i wanted to keep it tight to increase air volocity around the amp. i have about 1/2" all around the amp, exept the top obviously. so maybe the smaller fans will be more efficient than i think. were you at the show this weekend? whats that next one your going to?
  6. http://audioforum.termpro.com/cgi-bin/ubb/...20;t=013151;p=0 this isnt on a 4500 but should give you some idea what to expect.
  7. sounds great man. post it up for me. this is great info.
  8. the db rating is just how loud they will be. since ill have 4 of them i want each fan to be as quiet as possible. now the CFM rating will effect how well the fans cool my amp. its like, if its 90* and you have your ceiling fan on the lowest setting, it wont do much. but if you get that bitch to blow a lot of air, itll cool you down a lot better. now when we go to an amp rack, i have no idea how much CFM is needed to cool the amp. hell i dont even know if 30cfm is a lot or almost nothing. now i could just go with the highest CFM rated fan i can find but they are louder. so if i can get away with less air movement and have silent fans ill be that much more happy. i have been looking at those fans but i think i can get a better one. how many did you have? could you hear them?
  9. well either way i want 2.5" fans and not 5". i found one thatll do 54cfm but is 34db. another does 21cfm at 28db. would it be stupid to put one of each in each amp rack to cut down on noise and still get 70+cfm in each rack?
  10. sounds like you could be doing a lot wrong. how much power are you giving them. do not answer MAX wattage. only look at RMS
  11. ass hole... lol YES! finaly some real answers!!! yes i am looking at the db rating. one of the 5" fans does 90cfm at 19db. ok so anything above 40cfm should be great. thats all i needed to know. thanks a lot chevy!!!
  12. thank you, but i already have my plan. i just need to know how much air i need to move.
  13. so no one has an idea on how much air i need to move?
  14. huh... my xl's didnt get any louder than my sx's. so help me, if you get louder than me on 1 15" im going to be pissed lol. looking forward to seeing some numbers. good luck on your comp!
  15. yes. look at my build log buddy. bottom of the second page will show you the amps.
  16. no... read my mind... do iiiittt.... front of that amp rack
  17. yes i know. not an option for my build though. these will all be pulling. the cool air will come in the other side.
  18. ok here is my reason for asking and not just going for the biggest fan. im going to put the fans on the back of flared ports. if i can use smaller 2.5" fans then i can fit 2 of them on the front of the amp rack and would look better. if they just dont move enough air then ill deal with the one big fan.
  19. http://www.xoxide.com/thermaltake-silent-w...-130mm-fan.html http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...4&CatId=494 stuff like this.
  20. im not really liking those crossflows. but i have an idea that i want to do with the fans and it wont work with a crossflow. i just need to know how much airflow is enough. i can get anywhere from 30-90cfm
  21. well no one here did it or knows why, so why not make a few jokes? laughter makes the world go round.
