whats holding that ring terminal on the 0awg? i dont see any kind of bolt there. on the battery.

an alt would be the better item to get. Hey Damn i was hoping i didnt have to Okay i seen this alt by Powerbastard 220amp But i feel its to low of a price compared to DC 180 alt. Im wondering if it would last. garbage. go with DC power, mechman, or singer. i personally put them in that order. if you were to get a 220 amp alt, i would bet you wont see any voltage drop at speed. just a little at idle, probably a 1v drop at worst.

lmao, ya. then a week later you will come back here asking why your voltage drops to 12 when the car is idling. then we will tell you that your alt is a POS and doesnt produce any power at idle speeds. how about you just give me the $160 for saving you that headache since you would have thrown that money away anyways. you can keep the stock battery in the car. it isnt recommended and if you can replace it so that each battery in the car used the same technology, you should. but I have not had a battery die, yet, because it was in a mixed battery bank.

Is my wiring correct
skittlesRgood replied to HunterJohnson's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
plan for the worst. the wire could get beat up if ran under the car or cut on the hole in the firewall. shit happens. -

skittlesRgood replied to HunterJohnson's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
because if there is a short in the middle of the wire you need to protect both batteries. the front fuse blowing without a back fuse means that your back batteries dump all their power as a direct short. then you have a place to cook your marshmallows. -
Will this Super Tweeter work with this Crossover?

how much do you want to bet that everything you just said went over this guy's head? thats why I didnt go into great detail. -
ooh, just found another pic of the ladders. we heard from my sister. she said she was ready to go home already lol. she is only half way through the trip. she seems to have found out what i already know; going that long without a shower, toilet, or food you can identify, really sucks. that's why I didnt go lol

Intellicharger?
skittlesRgood replied to SnowDrifter's topic in XS Power Batteries / Chargers! (and other stuff too)
one big difference in the way a charger works on an AGM vs a flooded battery is the force charging. for about 1 hour after the battery is charged, it will continue to force charge the battery. doing that to an AGM battery will make the battery boil and damage the battery. getting an AGM charger will still charge a flooded battery, it just wont be topped off with that force charge. -

maybe you should look at the frequency reaponce of that speaker first. you definitely just gave incorrect advice. -

i would try to find a crossover at 3500hz, but yes that one will work for you. -
battery not charging right?
skittlesRgood replied to soundstream15's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
yep, definitely a wiring problem. something you think is correct, isnt. -

im trying to help with that. What are these tweeters going to be hooked up to since you are using stock speakers and im assuming a stock HU? or a stock amp? by the looks of your sig, you think you can just throw anything in your car and that makes a good system but there is a right way and a wrong way. and at your stage, no offence, you're doing it wrong. but that's ok, this forum will bring you up to speed. -

what are your mids crossed over at? yes, thats basically how you wire this passive crossover. -
battery not charging right?
skittlesRgood replied to soundstream15's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
you see, this is what isnt clear. you said "yes" to my question on if you measure voltage at the same time on front and back. then you say you measure one, then a week later measure the other. so what did you actually do? -
I'm not down for using a non anchored hand held hand rail. hahaha Thats ok that rope also stops you from falling down the mountain while climbing. well it either stops you or you take everyone down with you. when climbing with two people roped together hiking a knife edge, the only way to stop someone who falls is to jump off the knife edge in the opposite direction. never think of jumping off a cliff as a way to save your life huh? lol

im having a hard time understanding you. so you measure the back and front battery at the same time and the back one reads lower than the front battery? what brand is the alt you got? where did you get it? -
http://www.findmespo...4113N/86.77298E my dad is 60 and he's climbing to everest base camp with my sister. he's actually climbed a lot of big mountains over the past few years (he only got into climbing in his 50's) but this one, he's smart enough to know he's too old lol. plus it's a $10,000 license to climb everest.

no real benefit. 4 channel will save space. might be able to get more powerful 2 channel amps but you shouldn't need that.
