  1. what? you got paid money and you overdrew your account? unless that money went to bills you should NEVER let it get that low. if I get down to $500 in my account, I consider that $0. I actually try to keep it higher than that. i started that at $100 and kept raising it as I could. that way if you need emergency money you will have it. like when my tire threw some tread. be smart with your money.
  2. some of the clamps that wouldnt fit on the box i was making, because it was too full of clamps. can never have too many clamps.
  3. I'm not a fan of not using clamps. Mr. P knows this all too well. his method may work, but I would never trust it personally.
  4. that thin cardboard is all i have ever seen used, except for at DCsoundlabs. use CA glue. you can find it at any hobby store. and go to harbor freight and get yourself 2 tubes of little clamps. they are only $5, maybe less, each. this is what it looks like when I recone. the tube they come in is on the left sub.
  5. the two brands use the same battery. they just buy it from another battery maker and put their names on it. as for the size, you should get the biggest one you can afford.
  6. if you cut angles you actually have more surface area for the wood glue to hold it together. but since you are worried about strength, i suggest you build a small box and then try to break it apart. you should find that its not as fragile as you think.
  7. its an interesting idea. pack the sand down as best you can. the vibrations will make it settle and give it room to shake. not sure that you would be able to hear that though. give it a shot. always more fun to try something new.
  8. i believe people think DC copies designs because the original designer was a man from RE. and some of the 1st run of Fi woofers were very similar to the RE stuff (again same designer). so people thought it was a "copy" when really that's just how that guy made subs. then i think sundown has said some stuff about the 8"s. i have no background info on that. anyways, i have personally seen Rusty doing modeling on subs. I know he is designing his own stuff. there will always be idiots opening their mouths.
  9. x2, or if its a good reason, like you being late a number of times, do what you can to improve that. and being late is a big deal to a lot of bosses. I always walk in the door 5-10 min early for a shift.
  10. i cant speak for any of those speakers but... your hooking up a mid and tweet with no crossover to the same channel? might as well hook up your mid to your sub amp. its just as bad. plus it means the tweeter gets full range and will probably pop constantly.
  11. lmao "less incompetent" "this is in case you dont have an amp" no its for if you dont have an aftermarket HU. "the stupid owner before me" "whoops I just broke it." sorry man but there was some funny failures in there.
  12. funny thing is, the states where it is illegal, accidents have gone up. because its harder to drive while you are hiding your phone in your lap while you text. you believe that shit?
  13. you see my grandpa's shop? ill show you the link if not.
  14. What would you say to the SQ world champions that use L7's? Would you tell them to switch drivers because another one is so much better? pics? links? what org are we talking about?
  15. reminds me a lot of my grandpa's shop. he had a lot more home made stuff though. and a bunch of machines that are damn near industrial lol. we are actually cleaning it all out this week.
  16. cactus amps are nice but you almost cant get them in the states. but the DCaudio amps are the same boards, same build house. those you can get here.
  17. wait...why do you HAVE to run high voltage with a mechman alternator and not a DC alternator? why cant you just run a regular 12v system with a mechman alternator? i believe he would be using ohms law. more voltage to compensate for less amperage.
  18. holy fuck. i would have been screaming.
  19. 9? fuck how old are you? lol. im excited to see it too.
  20. i am now going to tell you the general rule we have here about higher voltages, and recommend you follow it: "if you have to ask, you shouldn't do it."
  21. for electronics... i wouldnt go over 16v for the battery, keep it below 15v
  22. meca drive by/park and pound? i thought gary killian had the record. hmm... maybe not.
  23. if i remember correctly, its 1 farad per every 1000w. of course more capacity isnt bad.
  24. uh , Yeah ???? SO IS MINE!!! Crazy shit mang!!! lol sorry for the off topicness... lmao i knew a ryan smith in high school... not a guy you would want to hang out with though. no, dont add polyfill to a ported box. it wont help you. i only ever use it to help kill the back wave in a sealed box.
