where does the 11 cubic feet in the port come from?? box looks like itll be about 4.5cubes? two 6" ports will give you 56.5 square inches of port area so its about 12.5 per cubic foot. that should work very well. exept you'll never get down to 35hz. full length of those ports are 17" and itll give you a tuning around 39-40hz. just going off memory here. my box is JUST like what you are trying to do. might want to check out my build log. only difference is mine is a little shorter but wider. also make sure there is at least 5" from the front of the port to any hatch. edit - shit, i guess i type slow at work.

think about it, you alt puts out how many amps? lets say its 100amps, the car uses 70-80amps with everything on. the saz1500 can draw 160amps so that leaves you with 130amps unaccounted for. granted the amp isnt doing max power... ever. but it still leaves you with about 60amps unaccounted for. so, no. the big 3 will not be the perfect answer. its something that will help and is very needed if you ground the amp in the back. you would do just fine upgrading the front battery and adding a moderate sized one in the back... but thats more weight. you could get a HO alt but its a little overkill and itll bog down your engine just as much, if not more, as the extra weight in the car. although it should be more reliable because the alt wont be working at full output all day long trying to keep up with the current demand. start with the big 3 and upgraded front battery and see how that works for you.

"bright" means harsh. the higher notes feel like a needle stabbing you in the ear lol. some people really like bright comps, most dont. look up the 2 speakers i suggested. i can promise you will enjoy your music much more with one of those sets. i would also recommend you get a little 8" sub for the lows. should weigh below 40lbs and itll give you a full sound range.

well... we are warm blooded so it takes a hell of a lot to get your internal body temp to change. i dont really believe you could do it in a shower... cool theory though. know of any studies on this?

how much power will they see? the crescendos are decent and they work for something to just scream over bass. but if you only have a front stage... i dont think they will be too pleasing. i would recommend you look at the pioneer 720prs, and image dynamics (anything they make).

my mom takes air-born and swears by it. i just take a couple vitamin C pills (something like 400% daily value) and the cold never seems to get very bad.

im pretty sure it is not the deck. when the bass cuts out does the amp turn off? when it cuts out how high is the volume? full tilt? try putting a jumper from the amps + to the remote terminal and see if it keeps cutting out. dont leave it like that though. also try turning everything on and physically smack the top of the amp. see if it makes it cut out. if it does, your amp probably has a cracked trace and needs repair.

it would be the same soft parts you have now, just with the 18" cone.

the 1st fiberglass box i ever made (and only) sounded great! best sounding box i ever had. it all comes down to how you build it. as long as the tuning, air space, and flex are all under control, its the same thing.

x2 and what "2400w amp" does he have? if its some cheap POS then it may only actually do 1000w. thats a pretty important difference. so give us a lot more details here including a budget, space, size an quantity of subs.

well if one battery is all you can afford then do it. you'll be "half-assing" it but its better than nothing.

it is possible to mix battery types but its not a good thing to do. an upgraded alt will be the more reliable option and it shouldn't cost more than two XSpower batteries.
