umm.... no. I think you need to go on BCAE1.com and read up on the "wire" section. what you said would be like if you lined up ten 1lbs weights and pushed them, somehow it would be as easy as pushing one of the 1lbs weights.

lower ohm load = more current = more heat.

lower ohm load increases heat in the amp and thats what causes them to fail, heat. my way around it is putting the amps in an amp rack with a couple fans moving air through the rack. keeps them nice and cool. ive ran strapped at .5ohm and each amp at .5ohm with voltage drops just touching 11v. never burnt an amp. imp rise wont save the amp during music. it may help, but every time the cone is at rest the amp sees nom. load.

so? for 1 8awg speaker wire is really overkill for you. and second, maybe he only has a 500w amp. granted it sounds like he has more than that but I'm sure he will be just fine with 4awg.

the longest run burnt up because it has more resistance. the shorter runs (cap to amp) can handle a lot more current because they are shorter, less resistance. no go put some proper fuses on that power wire before you burn your car down. upgrade it too. obviously 8awg isnt enough, and it hardly ever is.

I would do that. I think the pressure in that little chamber might give you some more control... subs could take more power... but if you get it too small I could see them being choked. try it lol. maybe you will figure out a new design. I've seen people do something similar with the port at the back of that chamber but I like the idea of having the ports in front instead. is this going to be a blow through?

it happens a lot in trucks and walled cars. basically, the cab is acting like a 6th order.

im using the crescendo mids for midbass. they are doing pretty good in that range. havnt tested them as a midrange.

as the coil moves up and down it lets air in and forces it back out. thats what does the vast majority of the cooling. thats why clipping burns up a coil, it limits the movement of the speaker.

power handling cant be good if the speaker cant move. the coils are cooled by air.

i honestly, really hate it when people say this... you have no idea what your talking about. there are many many types of plywood. it isnt some cheap, crap. i've got some 1/2" apple ply thats a good deal stronger and WAY lighter than 3/4 mdf. cost about $100 a sheet. but thats still plywood... hmm.. multiple layers of wood or sawdust and glue smashed together... why do we use MDF? because its the cheapest acceptable material.

i offered to build you a box lol. im sure most of the guys on here can tell you that my team mates and/or myself can design and make a better box than a cabinet maker. why does it cost so much? lets see $60 in supplies leaves $40 profit... comes to about $7 an hour. would you accept a $7 per hour job if you knew you were a great worker? now if you just want 6 sides slapped together, well shit, that guy could probably have it done in an hour. if you want something to perform, it's going to take some time to build and a lot of extra tricks that we know about. but hey, its your money.

could be a bad battery. maybe a bad diode in the alt. take it to an auto parts store and have them test the alt. they can do it without taking the alt out and its free.
