what to set my resolution to?
Nirvalica replied to tacomabanga1986's topic in Computer Talk - News, technology, advice
I'm pretty sure you can't go from vga to hdmi or hdmi to vga. VGA is analog and HDMI is digital. Like trying to play a cd on a record player. Some tv's have vga inputs, but I'm assuming yours does not, otherwise you probably would've tried that. If you get a new graphics card, make sure it has dvi or hdmi outputs. -

Does the back of your computer have green, orange, and black 1/8" jacks? The green will be the front pair, and black is either back pair or sub/center and orange is the other. Your Logitech should have three headphone type jacks in those colors too. That'll get you surround sound. But I think it'll only work if you have software that can utilize surround sound. I've never used it on a pc, but I'm using a sound card made for recording, so it doesn't have surround sound capabilities. -

Nirvalica replied to tacomabanga1986's topic in Computer Talk - News, technology, advice
All the ports on the monitor are input most likely. If your video card has two outputs, like someone said, you will need to enable the secondary monitor. If you are using the same video output as your monitor, then change your resolution to something small, like 800x600. Your tv should be able to display that. So if that shows up, then you know it works and just a matter of finding the largest resolution the tv will show. Also, I know you said it works with your dad's laptop, so I'm assuming you already did this, but is your tv's hdmi input selected? Actually, now that I think about it, are you going from computer vga->vga-dvi converter->dvi-hdmi->tv? VGA is an analog signal. DVI can be both digital or analoge DVI-D is digital, DVI-A is analog, and DVI-I is integrated (both). HDMI is digital. You can convert a digital DVI signal to HDMI, or a vga to analog dvi, but not analog to digital I don't think. -

I use my ATT button on my hu's remote. That's one big reason why I bought the one I did and not a Pioneer or Alpine. I loved the ATT button on my old Pioneer, and I just didn't want to live without it. If my music is bumpin, I just keep my finger on that button, or the sub level knob. -

Haha, I was wondering that too. -

I'm pretty sure u peel off the white paper, and the letters should stay on the blue paper. Then you stick it to your window or whatever and peel off the blue paper. At least that's how I would assume it's done. -
Just keep in mind you really don't need full coverage to get the full effect. I'm pretty sure anything more then like 65 or 70% isn't necessary. I think I remember reading somewhere that you only need like 70% coverage, but it may have been less. I presume any more then that will just act as a mass-loader, which will help with sound, but it that's not what the product is intended for. If you wanted to cover everything, I would get some SS for the primary 70% coverage, then get some cheaper stuff to add mass. SS is great, works well, but it is expensive and not worth it to do more then one layer imo. Get cheaper stuff to mass-load. For a back hatch, I would say get 40sqft. I got 30sq feet to do my roof and front doors. I ended up using like less then 15 for the roof and then maybe 8 for both front doors. I didn't cover everything though, only the parts that actually cause problems like big, flat surfaces. EDIT: Actually, 40 might be more then you need for the whole back hatch area and doors. But I guess it can't hurt to have extra.

The fuse is protecting the wire so it doesn't get too hot and melt/catch fire. There is a sticky in the wiring forum that says what the max fuse size should be for whatever gauge wire you have. -

Maybe a shark? -
I have an SAZ-1000d. I like it. No problems at all with it. I've been thinking about getting a 4 channel sundown to run my comps active. I don't know how good the SQ is on them for that though. Probably better then my kicker.

You should probably state how much you want to spend...

I'd go with the Type-R's. I had one, and I liked it. Had a bunch of friends with them too, its a good sub.

I caught a mouse in a snap trap by its leg and tail and it crawled across the room still stuck in the trap. I drowned it. Held it in a bucket of water with pliers. Looked like a little dog trying to swim free. -

Yea, the one in our pants. -
I use windows media player. Even if you don't have it, it's free. Theres a tab on the top right that says burn. Click that and an empty list appears where u drag and drop the music u want to burn. Theres some setting you have to change to make it mp3 disc. You can also specify if you want them to go in folders on the disc or not (like artist/album folders)
