i would put the strength of my soldered terminals against a crimp anyday

soldering is well worth the time if you have the tools to do it. i did the pull test on my terminals with a 300lb toolbench.....pulled it across the floor. looks better too IMO

yeah, that short of a run will be fine. Factory wire is usually 8ga and it can handle plenty over the 50 that your trying to make up. Or if its bothering you just get a short run of something larger.

i run 0 ga front to back fused on both ends. havnt had a problem with it. Piece of mind that my car wont set on fire is worth the 20 bucks.

i would recommend doing a triple layer if your going to flushmount. IT gives a lot more for the screws to bite into.
