SQ is debatable and is all personal preference at this level... especially at low frequencys. Enclosure and car acoustics also play a huge roll... Like i said they are good subs but i would go with something else if i was the OP

ive never owned them but from what ive heard there beasts, but 599ea is a little steep if you ask me... IMO better subs can be had for the same price or less (Nightshade's, lvl5's, BTL's, or something simular)

yea that guy is an idiot All yellow wires are +12v and all black wires are ground. I run 2 psu's to 1 amp. Most PSU's (atleast mine and there cheapo's) have enough diodes to only let the current flow one way so you can wire them in parallel to each other

i use computer PSU's to power my car amp's i got them all for free so i couldnt beat it, however i HIGHLY and i do MEAN!!! HIGHLY recommend getting a Lab Power Supply like this, if your set on using a car amp or already have a car amp http://www.powersupplydepot.com/productvie...roduct=16502+PS Computer PSU's are rated like sony xplod amps they claim 500w but if you try to pull anywhere near that the voltage tanks

lol whoever says mtx is a bargain brand hasn't looked at prices, w3011/w3012 are $50 each new and they sound decent. They hit 40+hz clean, below that they start to get a little sloppy and output is low. That MTX is ok, its one of there lower lines. For $25 you cant beat it. Any woofer will sound ok if the box is good

imp of the coils will never go up as you break it in, if anything it will drop as it breaks in. Double check your DMM by touching the leads together.

first thing i would do is check the woofers free air imp at 45hz

audiopipe 3000D or 2 1500D's or audioque 3500D honestly dude you wont blow type r's with clean power (1000wrms each) but if you have 2000wrms to 4 and you try to show off to your friends and clip the shit out of your amp you will

the kicker is NOT 1 ohm stable, its a good amp though

audioque 2200D can be had for 349 before shipping or an audiopipe 3000d can be found on ebay for cheap

in comparison to my LVL4 15' it didnt get low... then again my LVL4 15 did a 145 at 36hz off 1300wrms (after imp rise)

2 15"s will be louder and have alot more potential than 1 18 and TBH ive heard L7's and they dont really sound all that good and they wont play very low. the real question that matters here is what are your plans for electrical and what are you looking to run for amps? 2 AQ HDC15's for $560 in 8-9 cubes 1 AQ 3500D for $569 thats what i would do :hairtrick:

if your talking about the SSD and the BXi1610D it would be in parallel

dont worry about screwing it up, seeing he doesnt want alot of bass i would go with 1 12" in a small sealed box. Sealed boxes are really easy and if you manage to screw it up build it again... 300watts aint much cheaper than 1500watts it also gives him some head room so that if he decides he wants to go with 2 12's he will have the power to do so. heres what i would do. 12" D2 Fi SSD sealed in 1.3 cubes after displacement Audiopipe 1500D or hifonics BXi1610 (audiopipe is basicly the same amp only $50 cheaper) and talk him into getting a deck of some sort...

i have 6.5 kappas The mids are weak but i dont have enough power to them. Ive heard a set off 220 wrms and they were clear and had excellent mid bass, so power is going to be a huge factor for both kappas and RF
