  1. My opinion on the whole matter is if you are going to daily them the XLs will best suit you. If you are burping 10k+ do the lv5.
  2. Well i put some free air on it tonight, i will say this even free air it is noticeably louder then my regular XLs. I would imaging even more enclosed.
  3. I only have one but it is a little different then yours. I will maybe put it free air tomorrow just to see how she works.
  4. Nyman is a handsome man yes but i wasnt talking about him.
  5. As a person who has built on this motor and knows exactly how tight the gap is i would not recommend running them daily. These were built for the BURP vehicles in mind to give you huge motor strength but not anywhere near as forgiving as a standard XL. Remember all the Dc subs are build for reliable daily use, not so much peak SPL, this is where the new SPL versions come into play. Just remember that if you want a daily sub get the standard version.
  6. Looks like a good choice to swap to me. I still dont like your spider config but thats just me.
  7. Hell ya. Big changes to the Hammer mobile.
  8. Who is that good looking guy in the second vid? Hey i see wheels in the first one!!!
  9. People never listen to me i think i have said this about 10 or so times before that unless you are burping with huge power 10k+ the XL will mostly be louder. I am like a broken record in Robs thread telling him to ditch the 5 for a set of XL 10s.

  11. 05 Re XXX is going to sound better no question. If its high power SQ you need do the XXX. If you want it to be loud and clear the XL, no doubt louder.
  12. I find it funny the way you type because it is not how you talk. IT makes it hard for me to understand what it is you are talking about. :tease:
  13. This is true i have always found my subs louder crooked.
  14. I know i am just a nobody so i will leave these answers for a designated rep to answer. I have some questions for DC i would like answered too but i will just ask Rusty directly tomorrow.
  15. I may have a customer who will want to sell his once he upgrades to a Stetsom 11k2d. Keep an eye out for it in the future.
  16. I find it funny that i have found the exact opposite. Every install is different though.
  17. I had this problem once with my lv5 12s 1st year in Jimbo. It is caused by back pressure on the sub causing the button to flex. The noise comes from the cap slapping the top of the former. Also note the lv3 has a thinner cap so it will flex easier. But i know Rusty was trimming the formers down a bit extra to avoid this problem, seeing how there is minimal clearance under the cap due to its low-profile design. The problem is that subs former is a tad longer then the rest and is unfortunately slapping.
  18. Dust cap flex. This is what it is.
  19. Did you build that enclosure yet? I think once you have done that go back to 4 spiders and call it a day. :air_kiss: you are trying to hard RObby.
