Yep holding the cap on... I got it done yesterday. It took me about 10min because I had to shave down his power wire a lil bit to get it in and all I had was a razor blade. I took him to another shop and hopefully they'll help him out more there.

I'll be there tomorrow around between 10 and 11. The sparks won't kill you! I have friends that still get scared every time I touch a battery post lol! it won't shock you. You'll get a small spark and it will stop as soon as you get it in. It's just that initial contact.

Why would you buy a new amp before you get the alt? You would be getting the same results.

Have you actually tested the output of either amp? I owned a kx2500.1 and it... bout pounded a BTL out the box. That doesn't mean it was giving out max output.
