  1. ...how did i get home last night?
  2. exactly what i was going to say. so if i have 8 ports, i divide the length by 8 and get ~4" per port. i think my tuning would be like 125 hz
  3. it's not too hard to do once you know all the things to look for. one thing tho, your port is entirely entirely ENTIRELY too thin in that last example. net volume isn't bad, and tuning is good. port area is a slight on the tiny side, but that port ratio definitely needs to change. somewhere within a 1:6 ration of width:height. right now you're at 1:44.5 lol
  4. you can primer, but the paint is thick enough to where you don't really need to. primer is good for spray paint because it provides a little seal for the color to lay onto without getting soaked in. the brand i used was your typical paint you can get at walmart or home depot. behr, or whatever the cheaper kind of paint is. it goes a long way too
  5. i smooth mine out and use a roller paint to paint mine. it's a lot thicker and won't soak into the MDF like normal spray paint will

plus they're not even that expensive. and still pretty new. i'd just buy a new one
  7. haha i feel dumb for such an easy solution. just threw me off since nothing was touched on the inside and it all went awry. but if there's anything i can help with, lemme know
  8. yessssssssssss!! i cleaned the shit out of everything, reseated my video card like a mofo, and it POSTed! turn on my main monitor (the secondary one is black and says that windows isn't genuine) but i'm finishing the install!! uggggghhhh muh fukkin finally! i am so relieved. i guess cleaning and reseating is what did it although i couldn't tell you how often i took that card out. guess i just never put it back in the way i thought i did. thanks so much for your help guys glad i didn't have to buy anything. although it's like 4 years old, it still plays games fairly well, although i am itching to update some things on it. now i can finish my calculator and homework and yay yay yay for everyone
  9. well shit. i hope not lol. just confusing because it all worked fine one minute. put in a disc, then BAM no more display. does need a good cleaning anyways
  10. ah you know what...i think i'm thinking of my old PC before this one. that one had on board video, and i've always had a graphics card with this PC when i built it lol. i have a 9800GTX graphics card on this one
  11. i'll post a pic of it in a sec. i got it to POST again. now it's one long beep, followed by 2 short ones. 1long, 2 short Video adapter error Either video adapter is bad or is not seated properly. Also, check to ensure the monitor cable is connected properly. that's what one site says. replacing or reseating seems to be the fix for it. but...not so much
  12. i do have a double 15 pin VGA as well. but wtf?? it's been forever since i've needed to use my mobo for display, but i could have sworn i used that for video. the only other ports i have are 4 USB ports, the green/purple old ass ports for the keyboard and mouse, and a long ass pink port that looks like it's for a printer. the blue port (the 9 pin) has this on it |o|o| then what looks to be a picture of a monitor. and i just tried to turn it on again, and no POST. i think i'm going to take the CMOS battery out and run to the store to replace it
  13. it was actually a clean install. i put everything i wanted on an external hard drive so i could start fresh, then just transfer things over. i always read that you could go from 32 to 64, but not 64 to 32 which is why i went ahead and did it. and it's not a DVI, it's a VGA. just 2 different types the 9 pin that comes out of the motherboard looks like this piece on the right: and the 15 pin piece that goes into the monitor looks like this: i haven't messed with it yet today, but yesterday at POST it would beep several times and continue to turn on (lights and fans and such). i unplugged the DVD drive and the POST went away completely. so i plugged it back in and the POST still did not return. so last i messed with it, there was no POST at all, but things would continue to turn on and i can't see anything on the screen. the monitor says 'no signal' the whole time. i'll try to remove all the components and such and see what that does. i have a sound card, but i should probably try my speakers in the motherboard since there's no drivers installed for the sound card. i'll take out the CMOS battery again for a bit longer too. i'll probably go ahead and replace it, it's a few years old now. and thanks for reading through all that and replying. i appreciate the help
  14. i'm going to post this here...because i'm not getting any help on actual computer forums. hell one won't even let me register. so here goes nothing. it's gonna get lengthy lol i built a PC a few years ago, and it ran flawlessly. had windows vista on it at first, then i upgraded to windows 7 eventually, which went just fine. i had windows 7 32 bit on it, and decided to change it to windows 64 bit, so i install it, come back just to find my screen blank. nothing is displayed on my monitor. it says 'no signal', even tho the PC is on. i have a 3D card, so i thought to myself *duh, no drivers are installed* so i go to plug in the VGA cord to my motherboard, just to find that the original cord i had i got rid of somehow, some way. my motherboard is a 9 pin, and my monitor is a 15 pin port. so i buy a cord and adapter, and i still get nothing. i read somewhere that the way the adapter jumps certain wires can be wrong and nothing will display, so i trashed that so i buy a new cord, with a gender changer adapter (i couldn't find a 9 pin female to 15 pin male cord ANYWHERE) and plug everything in and again, nothing. so now i decide to do more research and see what the issue could be. i unplugged my graphics card, still no display. i took out my CMOS battery for thirty seconds, still nothing. unplugged the computer and held in the power button for about thirty seconds, still nothing. it powers on, and i got several POST beeps. 1 long, and 2 short (or 3 short, i forget. but i believe both pointed to some graphics or memory issue), so i unplugged my ram and tried just one, still got the beeps. so then i unplugged my dvd drive and the POST beeps stopped. but no POST beep at all, and still no display. so then i plugged it back in and expected the beeps to come back, but they didn't. so everything is plugged in, no POST beeps, and still no display. i'm so lost right now. motherboard is Gigabyte P35-DS3R. it was working just fine until i installed 64 bit windows and sorry i didn't keep it brief lol. but wanted to list everything i've tried. so...yeah there you have it. i know there's some smart people on this forum. hopefully i can get some help
  15. guess that means i can stop double layering my CLD lol great tests btw. haven't noticed, but if it's not stickied, it sure as hell should be
  16. i'm confused how the more expensive 200% coverage of peel n seal which is barely on par with the cheaper 25% coverage of CLD is still even considered a contender? hell i'd pay more just to use the CLD to cover that much less. deadening can become a tedious job after a while.
  17. not in the corner. as long as you keep the port area consistent throughout the whole port, including the corner where the 45 is, you're good to go. you don't want the distance from the corner of the port to the 45 any smaller than the width of the port, or that will pinch the air some.
  18. I don't understand why you put "Periods" in the middle of your horribly worded sentences? Is english a 2nd language for you? That was truly some of the worst grammar i've seen in a while. i prefer that than a huge ass long ass run on sentence. but not by much lol
  19. 45 at the port wall does affect tuning. how so? port displacement is already taken out of the gross volume of the box, so adding a 45 in the port does not remove anything extra from the gross volume.
  20. Gotcha. Learning something new every day. After doing it wrong of course lol. When did the big 3 come up? If you're running a stock alt, say 90 amp, you don't need to run 0 AWG, and definitely not two runs. That's just a waste of money. As for Titebond, I looked around Home Depot, they didn't have it so tomorrow I'll have to try a different store. never ever would i do the big 3 in anything less than 0 gauge. even stock. just a waste of my time otherwise
  21. is it weird that the deeper in the paragraph that i got, the faster i read it? until it just completely made no sense also...you say you have to talk to the officer that helped your case tomorrow...so...pretty sure that you should talk to the officer that helped your case tomorrow. more likely to get more help there than a forum full of audio enthusiasts
