  1. Sweep approx 51 to 11.
  2. On audacity, I See a peak at 11 hz, I doubt that I got that low though before the bad noises. The db gets higher as the freq drops from 20 to 11 hz. Nasty. At least I got to the volume pretty quick, prolly save this bish.
  3. Yeah it was my fault, thought I had the subsonic switched on, it was not. It is now.
  4. Not full volume, but pretty high. Yeah, sounded real shitty.
  5. Alright subsonic was off. On now. Can anyone explain what bottoming would sound like. I never heard it so I don't know if it was that or distortion or something in the car vibrating badly.
  6. I just thought that too. On this amp its 'off' or 'on', I thought I had it on, checking now.
  7. Well the box is deff not too big, a little on the small side. Its tuned low 30's, the bottoming happened on BigPimpins 'Let My Beat Pound" on the sine sweep part. So prolly to low for the box.
  8. I think I did this a couple times today. What kind of damage does it do to the sub? What could be the causes? Got my gains set right and it doesn't happen on every song, first time was today. Any knowledge on this?
  9. Maybe Decaf or Pimpin can make you one.
  10. THe guys from XS recomended to me connecting front and rear batt negatives. Said its better than grounding to the frame.
  11. Are you in or joining the Air Force? Why not go Army, FTW. We have way more fun. Not bashin' you btw, just sayin'.
  12. I've been told its heard a quarter mile out, don't know about 'felt' though. All I know is this fuckers loud for a single sub.
  13. So not a groundpounder? Maybe 1 or 2 more xls...
  14. So the gate guards here at my post have been giving shit about havin no bumps in my new ride. Finally got my dc xl and kicker 2500 tuned in and give a little demo. The guards are about fifteen ft away when I hit my shit, and one of them is like "my legs are shaking" and the other is making a hand signal like turn it down, too loud. Is that a groundpound? Keep in mind this is only one DC 4xl 12 on 2500 watts, with some tuning still left to do.
  15. Track 'em down, fuck 'em up. EDIT: Where were the cops that should have been escorting the motorcade?
  16. for ten bucks, I guess its a deal, just upgrade your battery and you'll be happier.
  17. I posted about the h/u a couple months ago. Its going to take some major fab work to rplace factory unit. Look at the ford website and the pics of the 2010 mustang stereo/climate control system.
  18. Alright, I finally got my system dialed in, close enough any way. I am blown away by the 12" lvl 4xl I got. This thing is loud as fawk and not even broken in yet. I can't stop smiling. I've always been the Orion, JL, Kicker, etc. mainstream guy. Since trying this xl, its by far louder and cleaner than all these. After joining this forum I started lookin at the BTLs and then DD, AQ, DC. I won't make this too long, I just wanted to say this is the best sub I've ever owned, big thanks to Rusty. I'm gonna go play with it some more!!
  19. Yep, that was it. Switched the pos and neg on one input and now I got a good signal. The sound is fucking ridiculous for only one sub. Thanks to those who chimed in on this, simple fix, don't know why I didn't think of it.
  20. Anything is possible. Do it!!! And then give us pics.
  21. All right, majority rules. I'll play around with speaker input wires after work and see what happens.
  22. So check it out, the input/output is something like this Input side: Output side: Main+ Main- Main RCA R Main- Main RCA L Main+ Ch1+ Ch1- Ch1 R RCA Ch1- Ch1 L RCA Ch1+ Ch2+ Ch2- Ch2 R RCA Ch2- Ch2 L RCA Ch2+ I got the subs going off the rear speakers to the main in, and i'm only getting one channel out, if I plug in both rca's, I get no bump, just some low background noise. You'll think this converter is more hype than the quality the price suggests?
  23. Head units stock, hence the use of converter, rca's brand new. Maybe the settings of the converter. Its complicated, 3 summed-seperate switches and different gains for each pair of channels. The entire manual in deutsch of course. I'll talk to the dealer about the converter settings, but anyone know why the speaker output voltage is so low, yet sub still hits pretty hard?
  24. Bump. Please assist.
  25. Ok, I installed my new DC xl 12, plug my amp back in and got almost no sound from the sub, just some wierd noises. So with the music still playin, I figure i'll switch the RCA's. When I unplug the first one, boom, the sub starts bangin. First question, how could one rca work and both make it quiet? 2nd question, i'm only getting a 2-4 volt reading on my dmm at the speaker output, why is this? The shit is loud with one rca, but sounds lacking, i need help to figure this out. EDIT: I should add that I sold the rf processor and am using a high-end signal converter made by Helix(german).
