Those RCA knobs don't affect the gain on the amp. they have resistors in them as you turn the knob to lower the bass your really just adding resistance for the sound as it travels threw the RCAs. Just think of it like a water valve Edit: snaps you beat me to it

I would have to agree with skittles and run a knob inline with your RCAs. I have the ppb1 on my amp and I feel it has to be on all way for my sub to be loud but then it starts to smell a lil. I plan on just removing the knob and just set my gain a lil higher
