  1. LOL. What, the thread or my though process? BTW, I think I'm even closer. Assuming the TL mic is approx. .3" in diameter, then the formular works! I'm kinda happy, but don't want to celebrate too early. Thanks man. And that info completely blows the formula out of the water. LOL. Oh well. But then agian, maybe not. Oh, and yeah, SPL is logarithmic. That's part of my formula.
  2. Pretty much. I know it's not going to be very accurate, that's why I gave an acceptable error rate of + or - 5 decibels. Hopefully that'll account for the differences among vehicles. I know it's probably a lost cause, but I can't get it out of my mind till I try. I'm like that sometimes. yep. as close as I can. And it includes the cone area of the subs, too.
  3. I'm working on a project to determine the decibel level of a setup to + or - 5 decibels. I'm using Meade's hoe as an example, and am getting close to my answer. I just assumed it was .5" in diameter, and working backwards through my current formula, I ended up with the math saying Meade was putting just under 40,000 watts to all 4 of his subs. A lot, I know, but 2 hours ago, the math had him putting 500 kW (yes, 500,000 watts to his subs!) !!! So, I'm def. getting close to having a formula on my hands. I've been thinking about it for 3 days, I found a thread back in the near end of the off topic section that got me interested. I was going to bump it when I got the math right.
  4. Ok, so I'm doing a little math project on the side and need help. I need to know the diamter of the pressure mic in a TL. I know it's not a mic per say, but I need to know the diamter (in inches) of the part that senses pressure. thanks in advance.
  5. Hulu doesn't have it until a week after it airs, and they only show it for 4 weeks and delete it.
  6. I'll try and get a vid of my pipes shaking my house windows tomorrow. but the camera isn't that good (blackberry cam FTL).
  7. Same here. I had Ubuntu at one point, but got tired of it. I kept failing trying to get it to do what I wanted.
  8. LOL. On a side note, I have a 12" Pyle that I put approx. 300 (clipped) watts RMS on for 30 minutes without blowing it.
  9. You've got a loose connection. If the area where the wire connects to the amp is hot too, then it's at the amp. But from what you've said, it sounds like a loose connection at the battery.
  10. That's a bit big for my tastes. I want one in my truck. I already have a 15" and held it up in diff. locations in my truck and it actually looks kinda small. LOL. I was wondering cause I wanted to retrofit a tahoe dash in my truck because the screen has a dang good place to sit. Sorry to get off topic Steve.
  11. Hey Steve, if you don't mind my asking, how big of a screen do you think you could fit in that dash? Possibly 15.6"? I have an idea for my truck, and would like to know.
  12. Ok, so I took a vid on my blackberry and I just found out that my video editing software doesn't support the file format my blackberry uses. It was saved (and transferred) to my computer in a .3GP format (WTH is that?) and I need some free software to convert it. I'm running Windows 7 Home 64 bit and Cyberlink Powerdirector Express (got it in '06, LOL.). Does anyone know any free video conversion software? Has anyone ever used this video converter: http://www.avs4you.com/AVS-Video-Converter...CFRdc2godfGuang If so, is it good?
  13. You could make a custom metal rack. That would allow you to use some kinda thick metal tube and plates plus heavy duty bolts (don't break the amp ). It shouldn't be expensive if you know how to weld decently.
